He just quits! Even the referee looks surprised.

He quits! Wow, Mukhlis eats a one-two, then he threw his hands up and said that's enough of this!

    Round 2:

Shafikov keeps the pressure on, firing in combination more often as he traps his foe against the ropes with increasing frequency. One combo sends Mukhlis down on his butt against the ropes. Shafikov keeps the pressure on as the round ends and Roy looks a bit disheveled as the round ends.

    Round 3:

Shafikov keeps churning forward. BIG left hand has Mukhlis looking a bit shaky, and a clean combo eventually compels his surrender.

    TKO 3!!!

Having watched a few fights in Thailand and Indonesia recently, I can't fault Mukhlis for the manner in which he decided to end the fight. That type of surrender isn't considered dishonorable when faced with a clearly superior opponent.

K.K. Ng wasn't facing anyone special, but I did like the manner in which he went about the task at hand in ths fight.

    Indonesian boxing's in a rut.

Around when Chris John's career was beginning to wind down, it seemed there were a couple of guys prepped to carry his torch. John's rival Yordan was the obvious successor but his prime screeched to a halt before John even hung 'em up (shame they never rematched) and John's protégé Rasmanudin seemed a promising young talent waiting in the wings but has developed into a journeyman..a good one, mind you, but loses too often when stepping up to ever come near the level of Yordan, let alone John.
