Based on WHAT? He two fights against decent fighters, one of which many thought he lost. Guys who were nowhere near as good as Tyson, Lewis and Bowe.:patsch

Ike is about as stable as Oliver McCall. Stay out of boxing, please, no good will come from it at this point.

Ike never hurt any woman. He didn't lay a hand on her. He never touched the police officers either. Neither of them or the woman had a mark on them. Knowing how powerful Ike was If he really resisted arrest they would have been

Two wins against fellow prospects one in which could have gone either way does not make an ATG.

Look at his resume besides Byrd and Tua, really shocking when Everton Davis and Marion Wilson vi for a place in Ibeabuchi's top 3 victories.

The guy was a good prospect no doubt but he is the most overhyped fighter of the last 20 years along with Tua.

I am of two minds about Ike. In a sense I agree with you--we never saw him beat anyone over six foot tall. So no, he is not that proven.

But he beat Tua and Byrd, two very talented and strangely underrated guys. Lets ****yze their wins, and please I get that their are all kinds of asterixes, but a win is a win is a win:

    Byrd: Vitklit, Holyfield, Tua

    Tua: Ruiz, Maskaev, Rahmen, Moorer

And I understand your caveat that some thought Tua won, but I think most thought Ike won.

So yes, he arguably did not beat Tua, both his big wins were against smallish heavies, neither win was exctly against an ATG , but...

In context, they looked like great wins.

I really rate Byrd and that was a good win, people only seem to remember his fights towards the end when he struggled or lost. An excellent fighter one of the best of the era imo.

Tua I used to love due to him being hyped as the new Tyson but in reality he was a very flawed over hyped fighter. Again only my opinion but he would never beat Lewis, either Klit, Bowe or even Tyson Fury, too big too good.

But you are right they are very good wins, but I don't think Ike would have beaten either Lewis or Vitali or Wlad.

I would have sold my kids to have seen a Holyfield v Ibeabuchi fight though.

I just watched the Byrd/Ibeabuchi fight back and thought the stoppage a little early.... Sure first KD was very heavy, but Byrd recovered very well and was making Ibeabuchi miss. Not saying the result would have been any different but it definitely could have gone on a little bit longer.

I've not seen it in a long time but if I'm correct I think I had Byrd winning the first 2 and Ibeabuchi winning 3 and 4.

I agree that whilst it was a heavy knockdown the minute rest may of helped Byrd recover. But a good win for Ibeabuchi.

Don't get me wrong, I liked to watch Ike fight, he just has some serious mental issues that maybe you didn't see in the gym. There's too many incidents of him being in trouble to dismiss.

The last Black guy I've seen that got the skills and abilities to fight on a Tyson or Holyfield level was Ike.

Yeah, I saw him fight - I've been following HW boxing since the Ali era in the 1970s.

And, believe me, during that time, there are few fighters whose reputation among some boxing fans seem more unrelated to what they actually DID than Ibeabuchi. :yep

He had TWO fights against live bodies - one of which many thought he lost - and somehow he deserves to be classed with Holyfield, Lewis and Tyson, or even the Klitschkos??? :patsch:nut

No freakin' way. Based on what he actually DID in the sport, he doesn't even come close.:-:)nono
