Title Bout Championship Boxing game says - Round 1 - Wilder is knocked out with 12 seconds remaining in the round. My Opinion - This is a prediction I can easily get on board with.
I don't know if Unproven is the best word. He beat Tua, who was an animal and landed a ton of power shots to Ike and Ike continued with his game plan, and he knocked out super slick Byrd. Surely both of those wins are better than anything Wilder has done through 38 fights.
I didn't realize Stiverne actually threw a punch...didn't see it on TV. Must have been a Bruce Lee type speed punch and wasn't visible until viewed in slo-mo.
He didn't beat Tua imo and according to a lot of people, me included. A very unconvincing win. Ibeabuchi profited from being a well liked fighter. He lost all but one of the rounds against Byrd and Byrd could have continued had the ref not stopped it. It's very possible that Byrd could have won a decision had he been allowed to continue. The guy is supposed to be a world class puncher but this is only based upon a dodgy stoppage against Byrd. Wilder has dominated his opponents in a way Ibeabuchi never came close to.
The Ike-Tua fight perplexes me. Ike hit Tua right on the chin dozens of times but Tua didn't get KO'd. Lewis hit Tua on the chin and KO's Tua. What does that mean? Tua was in "Bruce Seldon" mode against Lewis? Lewis hit 5 times or 10 times harder than Ike? Ike was under the "GGG" effect in that he was up against a better boxer and so didn't get the KO? It's a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a kettle of fish.
Chris Byrd himself was fine with the stoppage. He was in no shape to continue, and I think you'll find yourself in the minority of thinking he could have gone on to win that match, but you're entitled to your opinion, of course. I mean, Byrd was on wobbling legs, not putting his hands up as the ref was asking. I don't think the ref really had a choice. Additionally, I've rarely come across anyone that thought Tua was robbed in this fight, with most leaning towards Ike. If anything Tua had an argument for a draw, but I think this is a pretty clear win for Ike in most people's eyes. Either way, it was a war that Ike survived and probably won, and I don't think this just define Ike as unconvincing. It convinced the world that Ike could survive 12 rounds with a guy who was knocking everyone out and throw a million punches of his own. Nobody knocks Ike for this performance, that comes off as a bit silly.
