I don't think Sanchez is good enough to built a resume tbh. I thought he was a top 5 talent after ajagba but he's probably just smoke and mirrors
Are you really comparing Smakici, Makhmudov and Sanchez to Tua and Byrd? I'd suggest thats disrespectful towards the elder statesmen of the sport.
Tua and Byrd tells you enough. Sanchez, Makhmudov and Smakici are all genuinely second rate pretenders and hype jobs.
A knockout is tough to predict. Neither of these guys have ever been stopped and both survived some big hitters. One had a short career but with two big wins. The other has several more fights but isn’t terribly active and peaked at a later age.
The age argument against Zhang is dumb when all of Zhangs good wins are when he was already older If someone beats Usyk or if someone beat him 2 years ago would you say how good so you think Usyk was at 36 or 37? Zhang was a top 5 heavyweight to answer your question and was never close to getting stopped
Zhang was almost stopped by Forrest in the last round and had that been a 12 rounder or even 1 more round I think Forrest would've got him out of there.
The Joyce win 3 years ago and Zhang has only gotten older. Joyce is his only good win. Is Joyce better than Tua ? Wilder was shot
I wouldn't say almost stopped but yes he was out on his feet in the last round true and that was a 10 rounder but yes that's a good point
Joyce and Tua are basically equals Both top 5 at one point Both with massive limitations Joe Joyce probably beats Tua and their resumes are around the same
In hindsight though Byrd is a considerably better win than Sanchez. Byrd went on to become a champion and a top 5 Heavyweight of the decade in 2000s. Byrd just 1 year later after the Ibeabuchi loss acquitted himself very well against Vitali aswell so it's not like Byrd was green at that point he was a good fighter when Ibeabuchi stopped him.
