I would like to think that too, but Ibeabuchi is no Puritty. Sanders could outbox Puritty since Ross didnt have that much punching power and overall skill, but Ike does. I always felt Sanders biggest kryptonite are fighters with iron jaws and a very good punching power, and thats what Ibeabuch is. Even the Brewster version of 2003-2005 would give Corrie everything what he could handle. When the Vitali-Sanders fight took place in late April 2004, just 2 weeks after Wlad lost to Brewster, the german commentator René Hiepen stated during the fight something like: "We saw a couple heavyweight championship fights in the last weeks (Byrd-Golota; Wlad-Brewster), but these two (Vitali-Sanders) are the two best fighters, they are above the others." And i remember my first thought was: "Hey René, say this to Lamon Brewsters face that Corrie Sanders is definately above him, i am sure he will strongly disagree with you." Yes, Sanders at his absolute best in the time he weighed around 220 lb (vs Bert Cooper for example) would be able to outbox a guy like Brewster, but even then it would be very difficult for him because of his stamina issues. He never took Boxing 100% serious and liked more to play Golf instead. A top Sanders with a world class trainer + obsession to be among the best would have been too good for Brewster or Ibeabuchi, but this Sanders never existed.
How many rounds? I don't think we can use the Tua fight here, as Tua had no real skills and the reach of a welterweight. Sanders at his best was much better boxer, far quicker on his feet, much rangier and much faster. The match comes down to Sanders being in top shape. If he is, I'll pick Sanders via decision. If not Ike via mid to late round stoppage.
