Great fight, great thread. Watching this fight really does put into perspective how poor it is watching current heavyweights like Wlad and Valuev very slowly prodding their opponents to death.

I haven't watched this one in a couple of years and I don't even remember if I scored it, but I think I recall that I sat on the fence and said it was a draw.

This is a good opportunity to say what brilliant fighters these two guys were at their prime. If they were at their peak now, they would chew through anyone in the division right now other than the Klitschkos, but they would give them a great fight as well.

I re-watched this recently. I had Tua winning by 2 rounds.

I actually scored it... and had it a draw!

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if they beat the Klitschkos, especially Ike.
Tua was a bit one-dimensional at times, something Lewis exposed pretty much in their fight.

I think Tua won it, but it was close.

It was basically an even fight but if I had to pick I would have went with Tua. The judges just gave it to Ike because American judges only want Black heavyweights at the top and so they tend to give them the benefit of the doubt in many cases. Like the one judge who actually scored it 117-111 in favor of Ike.

Sadly this is USUALLY the case in many of the glamour divisions as well. Good luck getting treated fairly by American judges when facing a strong Black fighter. You basically have to win at least nine rounds and hope for the best, like Calzaghe against Hopkins.
