Ibeabuchi's no Liston so I don't see a first round KO,but an early stoppage is a distinct possibility if Floyd doesn't utilize his underrated boxing skills and exceptional handspeed.

I recall Byrd managed to score regularly and their fight was close to even on the cards before Ike flattened him,and I think Floyd had better handspeed and power than Chris and if he fought smart ,moving in and out and keeping away from Ibeabuchi's dynamite left,he could conceivably box to a points victory. But that's if he fought smart.

Not sure about this but I'll lean towards Ibeabuchi even though he was still to prove himself against the true elite and will forever remain an unknown quantity.

NOt one single win for Floyd? You guys are kidding.

Many people rate Floyd Patterson as faster than Ali. How is Ike's chin going to stand up when it is being popped consistently from all angles. Ike caught Byrd admittedly, who was a good quick fighter, but byrd is a long way down from Floyd in all respects. And Byrd stands square trying to catch punches, he doesnt move in and out like Floyd. Ike has the obvious punchers chance, but how does someone who cant catch Marion Wilson catch floyd patterson? And dont think that anything other than flush will KO floyd either. Floyd went the distance with the big hitters like of Machen, quarry, bonavena, chuvalo, cooper and he did knock out the Hammer twice as well KOing the resilient Archie Moore. The losses first time round to Inga and LIston look bad, but dont forget that Liston in particular may very well do the same to Ike. There is quite possibly a big class difference there (Although ike is largely unproven so noone really knows.)

Anyway, Patterson hits ike too often and reduces him to going for the big knockout. I say Patterson KO 10.

Beating david tua and chris byrd at heavyweight is more impressive than patterson beating a 43 year old archie moore.

    No it's not.
Moore's an all time great fighter but not only did Floyd whip him he also beat good fighters like Eddie Machen,Ingemar Johannsen,Henry Cooper,George Chuvalo, drew with Jerry Quarry and was arguably robbed against Jimmy Ellis.

Aside from Tua and Byrd who did Ibeabuchi beat.....the answer is nobody.

And let's be honest Byrd and Tua are nothing special either.Byrd is a good fighter but has only ever held alphabet belts and was never once remotely considered the best in the division.Tua is tough and powerful but limited against decently skilled fighters and has never even been able to win an alphabet title in an age when guys like Ruiz,Valuev,Rahman,Maskaev,Botha, and even little Roy Jones have.

We'd know a lot more about Ibeabuchi if he'd met Lewis,Holyfield or even a mid 90's Tyson but he didn't so he remains hard to rank against other proven fighters I think.

It doesnt matter if archie moore is an all time great, he was 43 and blown up. You wanna say tua and byrd are nothing special, well last time i checked, the guys patterson beat aint all that either. Head to head, ike would have knocked him out.

If you read my first post you'll see I leant towards an Ibeabuchi victory but I was just making the point that it isn't the foregone conclusion that some people here seem to think.
They seem to think just because Liston KO'd Floyd then Ibeabuchi need only show up and he would as well, when in actual fact Liston was in another league as a fighter to Ibeabuchi.

    Can't believe the Ike hype.

1/ He is no Liston. Not in any department.

2/ The speed differential between the two would be like a Formula One racecar up against a three year old girl on a tricycle, Patterson would be hitting Ike faster than he thought was humanly possible.

3/ Whenever a fighter has a "suspect" chin, people always assume any fighter thats knocked someone out before can find it. Eventually fighter A will find the chin of fighter B. Eventually Tyson will find Lewis' china chin. This is such a weak argument.

I think Patterson would win he is much faster and could box Ike, although Patterson would probably get knocked down but get up to win a decision.

A terrible match....... Cus would NEVER allow Floyd Patterson to face the massive and powerful Ike Ibeabuchi.......... Patterson is a much better person in life and boxing history, but Ike Ibeabuchi beats Patty to death within 5 to 7 rds in a 20 X 20 ring........

Ike beats him with bolts of lighting from his eyes and fireballs from his ass. Does he really bring anything more to the table than fellow underachiving nutjob Hurricane Jackson? No. Get off the crack people, I'm losing more and more respect for this board by the day.
