Ike "The President" Ibeabuchi vs Frank "Cuban Flash" Sanchez

Ibeabuchi, the greatest waste of potential in boxing, went 20-0 before going to prison, notable performances include standing toe to toe and outslugging David Tua, and a brutal KO of Chris Byrd who he outboxed and landed consistently.

Frank Sanchez being a modern decorated amateur with a 21-0 record currently, decent wins over mid tier names like Ajagba, Negron, Hammer.

Both 6'4 roughly 240lb ripped juggernauts of men with good chins, would this be an all time slugfest?

Ibeabuchi wins this one. Not particularly impressed by the safety-first Sanchez. He has decent boxing ability, but, no major power to speak of. Ike would not let him fight his normal pace. The pressure would eventually be too much for Sanchez.

I dont really know enough about Sanchez but Ike did beat a great elusive fighter in Byrd so he's not just a one trick pony. Ike by late stoppage.

Sanchez needs a step up in opposition to see what he is made of first, and a good one at that, because Ike beating Tua and Byrd is infinitely more impressive than whatever Frank has done so far.

I prefer not to make a pick one never realised his full potential and the other,Sanchez is still active and could go up or down.

I’d take Sanchez in the mild upset. I think Ike was overrated and vulnerable to being outboxed.

Interesting, I think Ike takes it, how do you see him being outboxed by a Sanchez when i'd argue Byrd was a better boxer?

Ike’s win over Byrd was a function of Byrd not offering up enough resistance and being stupidly stationary. Sanchez is more of a true heavyweight.

Sanchez has neither the power nor the skills to stop Ibeabuchi...

What happened with Ik Ibeabuchi was a tragedy. Folk forget he was a complete unknown outside of Texas when he fought David Tua. I was ridiculed on another forum for predicting Ike would beat Tua but after the fight it was " Where the heck you been hiding him, he;s awesome" Then when he nearly decapitated Chris Byrd it was funny when being interviewed Chris said " I was not knocked out I wasn't even knocked down " Then they showed him the replay LOL He just said " Awww ****" !!!!
If only Ike hadn't called that Vegas Hooker who "Only came to dance for him" ROFL Plus if he'd had the help needed to keep it together but all Kushner & co saw in him was the $$$$$$$$$$ they could make out of him.The only one worried about him was the late great Curtis Cokes. He was the only one Ike really trusted

The early rounds would be close and competitive. Sanchez has quick hands and good ring IQ to be the water to Ike's firepower. However Sanchez, like other Cuban fighters, seems to have a safety first mentalit. I think Ike's pressure and power puts Sanchez into a shell where Sanchez only opens up for jabs and a few flurries to pretend like he's doing something. Ike wins rounds on aggression and volume as Sanchez just fights to survive from round 9 onwards and trails behind.

    Ike by decision.
