Since when is Mercer a powerpuncher? Besides stopping a fragile chinned Morrison who else has he knocked out? I dont understand why people think Mercer was a big puncher, he wasnt. He was tough but not a big hitter.

Hence why I think it will go the distance, but I should have specified.

Give Mercer a small ring and he gives anyone hell.

I don't think either guy's gonna be taking a backwards step in this fight to be honest.

True, i'll go with Ike as the winner by close decision in a brutal war, because he is faster & more skillful, while both have iron chins & pack good punches.

    Pretty much.

So I guess almost everyone agrees that although Mercer is game, he just can't handle a well rounded fighter like Ike.

What i can't understand is why so many people pick '96 Mercer against '96 Tyson...

To me the faded but extremely dangerous Tyson from Bruno II & Holyfield I (people underrated his balls-to-the-wall losing effort here) beats anyone in '96 except Holy & Lennox.

'96 Tyson vs Ike... do I dare...

Also I agree, Tyson walked through some serious **** in that fight... in fact in about any fight he ever lost for that matter. No one can question his durability or heart.
