A lot of people, myself included, had Tua edging it. Close fight; by no means a clear win for either man.

Exactly. Ibeabuchi had promise, but because his career was cut short, he gets ridiculously overrated.

Very true. The same thing happens to Tony Ayala, Jr. to a lesser extent.

THis is great...I just got done watching highlights of the Tua fight....and what an amazing fight!! I thought Tua won by a point or two but also feel Ike did enough to get the nod......Its a shame we couldnt see more of Ike:(
Anyhow Tua crushes any HW champ right now....in shape weighing 230 the guy is a monster and would have Waldo flailing around the ring like a ragdoll...to bad he hides after racking up a few victories....I just dont get Tua...anyone here figure it out?

 Wlad's chin is utter glass, the guy has fallen down more times than a drunken Tara Reid at a P. Diddy party. Ike has proved he has a top notch chin, theres not too many Heavyweights that can stand in there and go hook for hook with Tua without going into a coma, just ask John Ruiz, let alone winning the fight at his own game.

I understand Ike never fought for a title or that, but with 17-19 wins under his belt, his resume looked pretty good with wins over the likes of Bryd and Tua, only Povetkin comes to mind when thinking about other Heavyweights with less matches under there belt, with such a good resume.

Back to Wlad, do you honestly think Wlad would beat Ike? I dont, the pressure alone would make Wlad go into a panic attack and eventually melt into the canvas as usually does when he meets a pressure fighter with heavy hands. Ike would easily be the best oppenent Wlad has ever faced talent wise, and we already seen how much trouble he had with another Nigerian Heavyweight.

Ike will chock the world and become WH champ after he gets out of yail in 2010. He would easely knock out Nikolai Valuev, if they were to meet.

Ike's been up for parole before. I don't know that he's emotionally stable enough to walk among us yet. I abandoned any hopes of a comeback about 3 years ago. Too inactive, too old, too out of shape. He's got a website and if you email him, he'll email you back (don't know that it's actually him but I did get an email).

Good one, douche. I saw him in the gym, up close, and saw many of his fights when he struggled against cans. He would have been a Mercer or Morrison. A very good fighter with limitations that would have resulted in losses against the elite and a few losses against inferior fighters. The overrated nature of Ike is absolutely comical and exposes anyone who thinks otherwise as an idiot. Wlad would teabag him. So would Chagaev. I wouldn't even pick Ike to beat Peter.

I know more than you would ever know about the fight game...no matter how many smiley's you use....chump.

    Clearly? Give me a break.

I had Tua winning, but it could have gone either way. Many, many people had Tua winning as well. It split down the middle. But don't talk about fights you haven't seen.

I know the two of us don't get along...but since this is a boxing forum, would you mind explaining why you don't see IKE defeating Peter...???

This is an interesting statement, and since you have intimate knowledge of IKE, I'd like to hear how you would see that one playing out.

It's clear you don't hold either in high regard, but how would the actual fight go between the two...???

Tua won that fight, but that was a prime Tua who most people forget could have been a great champ himself and was pretty much done after that fight. Ike slaughtered Bird, and Ike could box or punch. He should have done more boxing and less slugging against Tua.

He's not OVERrated, he's underrated, and imho he would have blasted Lennox out of there in three rounds or less. Just as big and strong as Lewis, a better boxer and he could crowd him and put something on his chin, which Lewis couldn't take. Ike would have been a champion, and an excellent one. The people here saying he's overrated either haven't seen him fight or are trying to up their cooler than thou quotient.

Well because Peter hits as hard or close to as hard, but Peter is much much slower with a weaker chin, and is about 10x less active in the ring. Oh clearly you gotta make Peter a favorite in that fight.

I think Ike ****ed that poster's boyfriend or something.
