Maybe the greatest 'what if' story in all of boxing history.

Who cares? He's about the most overrated fighter in boxing. Two wins against top level comp, one of them disputed - and people think he can beat all kinds of more accomplished fighters. :patsch It never ceases to amaze me how ridiculously overrated this guy is. :-(

He would have lost to Lewis so it doesnt really change the heavyweight picture

While he's up there, I think Tony Ayala is the biggest "what if" story.

its you who dont know what youre taling about. Ike first kidnapped a boy and injuted him. then he plead guilty to battery and attempted sexual assault. kept him under heavy sedation? he refused medication.

I know he was a good boxer, & many fans want someone to beat the Klitschkos, but people shouldn't forget the fact that Ike is utterly insane.

Ike was already starting to gain a lot of weight between fights and would have eaten himself out of the top ten very quickly.

hmm... would have to agree with you. But Ike is on par with him. I personally think the Ike that fought Tua beats any version of Lewis. Not disrespecting Lewis, he's a hell of a fighter, but even at his best he's pretty damn one dimensional and chinny. I think Ike just beats Evander down in brutal fashion.

I also think Tua won that fight, but he was never the same after that. I'm in the minority on this one but I think without the Ike fight, Tua maybe becomes a dominant champion himself. They were imho the two best fighters out there PERIOD, and Tua got ruined by Ike and Ike ruined himself.

    Totally disagree.

IMO Evander takes Ike out.Probably so does Lewsi.

And also IMO Tua was still in his prime after that fight. He just got fatter and wasn't that serious.
