Seeing that Jersey Joe lost about 30% of the time he entered the ring, I'm gonna say that Ike has a good chance.

I think that the jury will always be out on Ike to some extent.

I am going with Walcott here.

Walcott the much better boxer. Ike the much bigger and more physical man.

Man, I feel I have to go with Ike. If Marciano ground Walcott down, I think Ike might do the same. Ibeabuchi simply too tough, big and strong for Jersey Joe.

I’d go with Ike, both are overrated

Ike just breaks him down, Walcott was good but Ike was a very intelligent fighter. Watch the Byrd fight, he was throwing punches from odd angles, mostly hitting Byrd in the body and the arms but when he did connect with Byrd's chin it was devastating.

I think that people are way too quick to assume that Ike was some sort of head to head monster.

If David Tua had been taken out of the picture after their fight, we might be seeing similar wild predictions regarding what he was going to become.

All that we can say about Ike, is so far so good, but in the end not all that far!

Who do you think is a better fighter, Ike or Layne?

Layne was certainly more accomplished, but I will grant you that Ike was never the finished article.

Do you think Layne would beat Tua and Byrd?

Layne was pretty good. Better than most folks think since the finish by Marciano is what sticks in their mind.

That said: I don't favour Layne to beat Tua and Byrd.

Do you not think Tua or Byrd were at their best for those fights? I thought Tua looked better than any other performance he'd put in, and Byrd looked the same as he always did IMO.
