Quartey by KO, I don't think Cotto would've been very good 10 yrs ago at WW, lets be honest he barely got past an old shopworn Mosley, 2000 versions of Mosley, Tito, ODLH, Ike and Forrest all beat him and all likely by stoppage.

It's hard to say, because Ike was a serious under acheiver and often allowed his big fights to slip away from him because he thought he was doing far better than he actually was.

If the inferior TEY, Joshua Clottey almost beat Cotto, then the superior Tey, Ike Quartey would have easily won imo.

IKe Tko 9 in a very exciting and competetive fight, but Cotto wouldnt be able to take Quarteys firepower down the stretch and would also get busted up by the jab. Cotto would sure have his moments though and be highly competetive.

I can't see how Cotto beats Ike.
The truth is the fight told me more about Foreman than Cotto.

Ike lost all of his biggest fights,he had a great thunderous jab but was very stationary and lazy and was outboxed every time he stepped up against the elite level.
Vargas outboxed him by using lateral movement and Cotto is a much better boxer than Fernando.

Ikes only loss in his prime was to ODLH (and that was very close) Sometimes Ike would get lazy but if he could hurt you he would jump on you. One other thing Cotto wasnt anybetter than Vargas and Vargas was the physically stronger and bigger man. And im not underestimating Cotto, more like you are underrating Vargas.

I watched Ike defeating Espana live in France and he wasn't the better boxer that night. It was a dead even fight and Ike literally overpowered him in the last couple of rounds.
Vargas for me is on the same level as Margarito and look what Cotto did to him the first 8 rounds.I respect Quartey and Vargas as great warriors, but i am not a revisionist who thinks every fighter from the past is better.
Quartey was a strong fighter with ground under his feet but fell short every time he stepped up.I can't imagine Ike beating Mosley like Cotto did.

    Well styles do make fights.

You make some good points here. I could definently see Cotto running away with a decision if he doesn't break down, or break Quartey first. That's what it would boil down to.
