people are selling quartey short.....the only guys that ever gave him problems were taller fighters, or guys who could outbox him. Quartey in his prime only lost to ODLH and Vargas, two of the best fighters 147-154 in the last ten years and the ODLH culd have gone either way. I say a prime Quartey busts Cotto up. Cotto is tough, throws good combinations but is so stiff and he looks to have lead in his shoes at times. He'd be a sucker for Bazooka's jab which would go right thru that peek-a-boo Cotto uses. Also both can be hurt but IMO Cotto has the advantage inside and Quartey has the advantage outside. Both have loads of heart but Quartey gets a close nod.

Yeah, Quartey does seem to be very underrated here, and that's probably because of his record, which is a shame, because it doesn't tell the whole story.

I have to go with Ike. His jab alone would give Cotto big problems.

I don't see anything new that Quartey can bring that Cotto cannot cope up with . . . so Cotto.

Cotto razor thin...Quartey have shown a propensity for losing Big close fights..on the otherhand, Miguel has shown the opposite. Battle of teh jabs...I think Cottos approaching Quartey territory

lets be real has Cotto ever fought anyone the caliber of a prime Oscar De La Hoya, prime Vargas???? I think not.....Quartey fought better fighters and this is a prime for prime fight and mr. ROBOCOTTO would get jabbed and crossed to death. J/K honestly Quartey matches Cottos strength with a better jab, as good or better chin and heart. Cotto isnt approaching Quartey territory when he has only exhibited a good jab in 2 or 3 fights, he backpedals when he is winded and forgets the jab....he has a way to go before he has a Quartey jab. Remember Judah and Mosley were never great jabbers to begin with.

Ike stuns him with a bazooka jab.

you are right...but Cotto is at the point in his career where we are gonna find out if he is a p4p typr or a borderliner like Quartey was...and in my estimation and in this matchup I think Quartey has the skills and intangibles to beat Cotto he is and was more far tested at the highest level....Vargas, Forrest, ODLJ, Lopez...Cotto has just beaten a past prime great in Mosley and a couldve been in Judah...two guys who dont have a jab, or natural welterweight strength like Quartey. Shane is strong but Quartey IMO is stronger and looked better at 154 even in his losses

Do you have Quartey winning against Mosley at 147?

now thats a pick em if i heard of it...im not too sure. But based on their past i go with Mosley. He beat both guys Quarteyv lost too, and in his prime Mosley's punch output, speed and footwork would be enough to edge out a prime Quartey. Mosley has proven he belongs among the greatest of the passing era, its just Cotto is on the cusp but still not there inhis own era. No matter what anybody says...Cotto has to get past PBF to be the man or to be considered great. The rest at 147 are good-to-very good...Mayweather is his meal ticket

Quartey beat De La Hoya and I'll go with him over Cotto. Ike hit harder than both Zab and Shane and had one of the best jabs ever.
