Ike threw like 3 jabs in the last minute. Hardly compares to Oscar nearly decapitating Ike, and not only that, but according to the rules, if the ropes are holding you up, it should be ruled a KD. :deal
it was very close i could watch it 3 times have it once for oscar by a point once a draw and once ike by a point. oscar was the champ and for once in his life showed some heart in the 12th. oscar was the champion and i feel it was a decent decision. what round did oscars father come up to him in the corner and tell him he had to beat quartey that quartey was a bum etc etc?
Great fight that is too often overlooked. I thought it was ODLH's finest performance as I had a 10-8 12th round the difference in his winning the fight. He showed heart, grit, and determination to pull off that victory, and Quartey was a damn good fighter.
It doesn't matter to me. I had it 5-5 going into the 11th. Either way, it was no robbery by any means.
The damage he did with the Knock down he could have got a 10-7 round I know it was scored a 10-8 I am just saying I would not have a problem with the Judge giving Oscar an extra point. Sure both gassed late in that fight but the ropes were holding Ike up... My User Name says it all.... you think I am happy to suggest that Oscar could have got a 10-7 round or do you think I am going to sit here and be okay with Oscar winning knowing I am a Quartey fan? I mean I could see where Ike could have won but like I said going into Oscars back yard and getting dropped like that in the final round in a close fight no need to cry robbery Oscar defended his title.
I scored rounds 1-4 to DLH, rounds 5-9 for Quartey, round 10 for DLH, round 11 for Quartey, and then Oscar won round 12 10-8. Thus, my final score was 114-113 DLH. I always score it like that. Simply put, DLH started fast and swept the early rounds, Quartey outboxed a gunshy Oscar from rounds 5-9, and then Oscar closed strongly to squeak out the victory.
People who have Quartey as a win need to study up how rounds are counted. I had DLH up by one point. Close fight, even at late rounds, DLH pulls through at end.
