    It's Quartey's own fault. He felt he was too good to take on the "small" fighters and only wanted to fight for the gold. He robbed himself of the BIG $ matches being a snob.

    Years later he fight Vargas and gets his clocked cleaned. He should have stayed active.

    Well maybe if Quartey quit backing out of big fights he wouldn't have been off for so long :patsch

    he backed out of fights because the money wasn't right


    however the reasons for his break arent important- the fact is that a rusty Quartey beat a prime De La Hoya;)

    I agree with this, but I thought Quartey CLEARLY won and you can score the fight the other way ONLY if you are biased towards Oscar. It wasn't a "robbery" but Ike won, kinda like Oscar "losing" to Tito

    Oscar was prime at 140 and Quartey sure as hell didn't beat him at 147 :hi:

    The money wasn't right?? WTF? :lol:

    I hope Quartey is doing good financially today, if not, maybe he should have fought 2 or 3 times a year rather than being a snob.
