Ike would do well for awhile, but I see Cuevas catching him eventually. Ike was always vunerbale to left hooks, which aint good news for him in this fight.
Yeah, I can see Ike out-boxing for a bit but being caught badly, eventually. Quartey was a really respectable champion at welterweight, I thought.
I think Quartey has a good chance to knock Cuevas out, he has a big speed advantage, but more often than not Cuevas will probably break him down and knock him out.
Well if they fought 5 times id take Quartey in at least 3. Im going with Quartey by decision or possible late stoppage, put then agains if he takes risks later(which i doubt) he might get kod. Played this in my head a few times and im 60/40 Quartey.
I'd take most fast skilled boxers overs the slow defensively open Cuevas, hes there to be hit and his punches are easy to evade. Against a higher standard of opposition hes unproven and effectively failed with crushing KO losses, although his fans would have you believe he was past it at 22 . If Cuevas gets free shots he'd beat many men but he won't get free shots against anyone defensively savy, will get beat to the punch and hurt with his poor defense
Yey alot of you guys think im biased toward latino/Mexican fighters not the case^^^^:bart Maybe sometimes when it comes to rooting for fighters but i dont show any biased when asked about who was greater or who would have beaten who.
What?!!!!! :admin:admin:admin:shock::shock::shock: Nah, I'm kidding. I don't think you're bad on that.
Well, unlike the previous thread with Cuevas..vs Napoles, he acually could have won this one via ko, as Quartey is no Napoles in any way. One of Pipino's bombs catches him and puts him down in the 6th.
I think Quartey has a good chance in there. He has the skill to outbox him and the defence to avoid most of the damage. The other scenario is Cuevas wearing Ike doen and stopping him in the midrounds or he lands a big flush shot. 60:40 for Cuevas I think but I wouldn´t count Ike out.
