:think Would be a great fight who do you think takes this? Kind of think the relentless power punching Pipino would accomplish what the lazy Jose L Lopez almost did.... But i can see Ike winning this too with his better boxing skills and hammer jab. Could Quartey survive Pipinos storm and trouble him with his jab?

A resounding NO. Quartey's skills will simply borrow some time before he is ultimately steamrolled by this Mexican Foreman. Ike's "clam-shell" defensive tactics would do him no good in this one. Pipino had too much firepower.

:lol: Never heard that comparison!! But yey a welter version of Young George sounds right... But Cuevas had good stamina.

Quartey outboxes him, maybe stops him, the jab and faster leads see Quartey land first and yes hurt him at times, Cuevas wild swings aren't getting by Quartey's elite level defense

Great match-up. Quartey's defense was rigid but could be broken as Lopez proved. Cuevas had good stamina and better power. I think he gets through finally, though at a high cost to himself and wins a UD, with much plastic surgery in his future.

Quartey could be hurt but for the most part had a pretty sturdy chin.... I know you like Cuevas almost as much as Norris, but do you think he gets past his jab and blastes him that fast? I can see Cuevas getting the Ko but think hed have to work at it for longer. Lesser fighters lasted longer with Cuevas.

Very interesting fight. Both would probably be on the verge of going at some point (Pipino early, Ike late) but both would probably weather it and it would be a line call after its all said and done.
