Two years ago I would have said that Ike would be to strong for Bud but now I feel like Bud wins this fight by decision.

Bazooka might be too strong for Bud. I could see Quartey eeking out a decision.

Bud is too smart and has too many dimensions to his game. He would not join Ike at his own game. He would figure him out and win the entire back end of the fight.

crawford beats quartey onesided and any given way he wants on that night. Way to versatle for quartey. He takes away quarteys jab and thats it.

I don't think Quartey fought a lot of southpaws besides Winky. I think Crawford turns southpaw, takes away his jab and outboxes him.

People are giving Spence little chance against Whitaker in the other thread but Crawford is overwhelming favorite against Quartey? He even “takes away his jab”, LOL?

So I guess it’s clear who most of you are rooting for in the Crawford/Spence debate.

I think it's just the matchup. Crawford being a superb switch hitter and high ring iq has more than one avenue available to him to neutralize Quarteys jab. Errol spence outpointing whitaker over 12 is much harder to imagine

Quartey fought all the way up to 160 where Crawford started at 135 I believe. That could be telling. And it's not like Quartey wasn't skilled in his heyday either...

If he tried to outbox him, yeah. I sure hope he wouldn’t if I were a fan of his.

I understand your point, though. I just think Spence is clearly a more proven Welter at this point than Crawford. So were Whitaker and Quartey. Too early to make a call on either of the current guys until the dust settles, truthfully, but Crawford especially.

Spence has beaten 4 of the best Welters in the world over the last 3 years. Crawford has beaten one of the same men 3 years after Spence took him out, and a similarly shopworn Amir Khan.

quartey had a bad habit of coming up short in close fights....
I imagine same would happen here

I could buy that. I think Bud may take some damage in the process though.
