I always thought Quartey was overrated and made to be better than he was. Decent jab but robotic.. I think Crawford outboxes him UD.

agreed going into the last round, but quartey gave it all away when oscar put him down and nearly out the second time. if I remember correctly he was getting pummeled like a rag doll along the ropes

That made it close. Ike controlled most of the fight.

Crawford is up there with David Tua as the Classic Boxing hypothetical Superman. The Quartey of the Espana and Phillips fights was more fearsome than anything Crawford could imagine. He had the size of a 154 pounder with the work rate of a light-weight, and one of the most forceful jabs I've ever seen. Crawford has never been in with anyone remotely in his class.
Crawford has the weakest resume of anybody I've ever seen who has been so highly rated pound for pound. Maybe in a couple of years once he's been in with the likes of Spence or even Porter or Garcia, or ANY serious threat at 147, things will change, until then he shouldn't be given the nod over a legitimate 147 powerhouse like Ike Quartey.

Yeah, Oscar was pretty inactive after that 6th round KD up until the 12th. Not like Quartey was doing a lot either, he was just doing a little more in those mid rounds.

Foreman’s mancrush on Oscar was an all time high in this fight:

Larry Merchant: Oscar is not doing much

George Foreman: Not much is a lot for Oscar De La Hoya. Not much is a lot!

Foreman wasn’t a “good” commentator but he was definitely memorable.
