The Vargas fight was probably the most exciting fight he was in, but he lost convincingly. I think the Espana fight was excellent and a real introduction to him. Phillips was a great, destructive performance. I felt he beat Oscar, but I don’t think it was a great fight save for two great rounds. He really had Oscar froze for a few rounds, unable to do anything past the jab.
Man that fight with Phillips had me wincing, Phillips had courage, attitude and could work but he was just too small his shots were bouncing off Ike like he punching a tractor tire.
