Good match up I think Willams would win maybe stoppage but I would guess a decision I think this might be closer then expected from first glance.
Hmmmm, you'd be more inclined to say Cervantes by decision, but Williams is so damn tough he would probably walk straight through Cervantes, who in his prime was tough as Hell. Hmmm.....tough question, but I'll go Williams as it would make a damn exciting finish. Prime Cervantes grits it out til late, this wouldn't be a Pryor-style blowout. 13th/14th round, Williams backs Cervantes up and doesn't stop throwing until the ref steps in.
Im picking Williams aswell, you could always go for the larger Cerantes to use them great boxing skills and jab, combos from outside to take it, and imo Ike wasnt the very most mobile of guys. But them subtle movements meant he got close and unleashed absolute hell on his opponents, and when he had you going he finished it, you couldn't ge away from him. Wiliiams imo.
Williams...Cervantes is another one on this forum who over time has reached near mythical perportions. He was very good but not great.
He was a great ten stone fighter. I'm uploading his 15 round decision over top contender Lion Furuyama tomorrow.
Cervantes could certainly cause problems with his skills and movement for sure. Still, given Ike's all around abilities, he could eventually find a way to get to Tony. Williams either by UD or late TKO... but it wouldn't be easy.
