Great matchup again! I think Locche was really great at avoiding punches, slipping punches, excellent head movements, etc., great defense master in general, but against a puncher like Williams, who would non stop pressure (he wouldn´t respect Locche´s feather-fisted "punches") it wouldn´t be enough, IMO Williams catches him somewhere in the later rounds...
Thank you. I agree with your assessment, Williams had dynamite in each hand...He would problably be in a close fight with Locche, and need to look for the stoppage....and get it.
Ike wins this, but on points though. Niccolino was certainly a good enough defensive fighter to stay out of harm`s way and last the distance IMO, but that is what will cost him the fight. He will be fighting such a defensive fight to avoid getting hit by anything Williams throws at him that he will lose the fight due to inactivity. Ike is gonna miss a LOT of punches in this fight, but he is gonna keep flicking that long, accurate jab of his out there and will at least try and mount some kind of an offense whereas Nicco won`t, and that will be the difference as Ike`s higher workrate will win him the day.
If it happened in Argentina, where the crowd would be chanting 'Nicolino' and clapping and cheering his defensive artistry, Locche probably wins. If it happens elsewhere, Locche probably loses. It will be one of those fights where both land their fair share, Locche maybe a bit more, but the question will be, what do you like more: defensive artistry or aggression and activity? I'd probably like the defensive guy. Locche 8-7.
