    Who Wins?

I have a feeling this would be a great fight. And @roughdiamond's dream.

I take Canzie. Too much foot movement, speed, and ring craft. He also took a pretty good punch. Williams advantage would be greater strength. He was a big lightweight whereas Tony was on the small side of the lightweight spectrum. Ike likely would have an edge in punching power, but Tony punched hard enough to deserve respect. His kayos of Al Singer and Jackie Kid Berg were impressive. And late in his career he shook up a relatively big guy like Jimmy McLarnin pretty badly in their first fight. That was Tony's last great victory.

I’m not seeing a Canzoneri victory here. Ike is going to dwarf Toney, and I believe a major strength advantage as well.

I see Ike bearing a valiant Tony by a comfortable margin....tony’s toughness won’t see him pull of any magic. Not picking a stoppage but to be honest I think Ike has a better chance of becoming the 2nd person to stop Tony, than Tony does of winning this fight.

Stellar match-up. Both could mail it in at times but both prime and I am shading to Ike by physicality and size. Tony was super slick but has far to go to reach Ike and would have to walk a tightrope to seal a decision. He seemed to like to gamble on his reflexes and that is dangerous against Williams. One slip and it could be over or heading that way very quickly.

My post from your LW tourney thread:

'Ike Williams vs Tony Canzoneri - A battle of two truly All Time Great fighters. Unlike Chavez, Ike has the skill, poise, length, offensive skill and power in a unique blend to keep Canzoneri honest. Tony has his truly superb moments, but Ike would be just that one step ahead of the barrel chested Canzoneri. Would be similar to the second Ross bout, but more convincing for Ike.
    Ike UD.'

Believe me, I'd want Tony to win. Ike is just a bit to much as he has the power, length and holds his own skill wise. Power is the difference here IMO, even though he wouldn't knock Tony out, or even down, but he would keep him honest and at the end of his punches. If Williams had no power I'd actually pick Canzoneri.

Close though, and not comfortable for either. Great match up.
