There was talk that AJ was planning to fight Bakole in Nigeria because AJ is of Nigerian descent and Bakole is also African.

Domestically it wouldn't go down well

People earn $5 a day there and you have boxers expected to get paid tens of millions of dollars

Where would the money come from? Money earmarked for national budget?

Trust me, in our lifetime will never see an African superfight unless someone like Turki bankrolls it.

Africans countries are just too poor and corrupt

The economy of Nigeria is a middle-income, mixed economy and emerging market with expanding manufacturing, financial, service, communications, technology, and entertainment sectors. It is ranked as the 53rd-largest economy in the world in terms of nominal GDP, the second largest in Africa in terms of purchasing power parity, and the 27th-largest in terms of purchasing power parity.
    Turki or Eddie Hearn.

Averages can be misleading. Nigeria has a handful of billionaires, but ⅔ of the country lives in what we would consider abject poverty.

Africa is rich in people, resources and agricultural land. But it is currently poor because of the way capitalism has exploited it.

Its problems began with the Atlantic slave trade, which financed the birth of industrial capitalism

This was followed by imperial domination that set up trading patterns designed to benefit the colonisers.

Right. Point is, there isn't a burgeoning economy where there's a large middle class with disposable income to spend on attending sporting events. Most of the wealth is pooled amongst the very tip of a pyramid.

Bro every country is good in pockets. Nigeria is no different.

Even India looks amazing if you live in a gated community until you step out and see people defecating in the street and making armpit potato patties and selling them as street food

I'd buy an armpit potato patty from Aishwarya Rai.

What is Sam Peter up to lately? Maybe we can get a 20 years too late big Nigerian domestic showdown.

    Stiverne
    Briggs
    McCall
    Peter
    Tua II

To name a few. I have nothing against him fighting a few more guys his own age who are looking for fights or need a payday.
