I think Sergey Kovalev went into that fight hoping to get unbiased officials. Sadly he didn't. I think Andre Ward went into that fight hoping he was going to get he win in a close fight. He was right. I hope the rematch is a Fair straight down the middle fight fairly officiated & the best man on the night deservedly getting the win
if you score the fight like an idiot then you'll have nothing to worry about. you obviously can't score for ****.
In response to dumbovelvet claimg Jacobs outlanded GGG. Just how agenda laden do you have to be in order to make such a radically incorrect statements? "Jacobs outlanded GGG" "Kovalev was the one fouling Ward" Yet he claims to have been a boxer and to possess superior working knowledge of the sport. Of course he also claimed to own night clubs.
WWE title will be on the line in the rematch! Harold Lederman had the fight 116-111 Kovalev................Ward did not do anything but wrestle, hold, try to headbutt, elbow, grab Kovalev's leg, SOB did not win that fight, SOB was booed......................remember, SOB refused the rematch unless he could pick all three judges and referee...............that tells me something...............SOB refused to have neutral judges, SOB thinks that Neutral judges are unfair to him.........................SOB lost the first fight...................watch out of the damned criminal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc.
I thought the same thing...Kov thought he had the fight won and didn't go for the KO. Then I started to think about it and a question came to mind...when has Kovalev ever let up on an opponent? He always goes for the KO! So I find it interesting that he would let up on his opponent in the biggest fight of his career. I honestly think Ward had a lot to do with the way Kovalev fought the second half of the fight. I still think Kovalev won, but him not getting the knockout on purpose...I highly doubt it!
Farmer Boy! Here's a question... Wouldn't it be easier for Ward to just pay Kovalev off than pay the judgers, ref and commission off. Pay 1 person(Kovalev) off once and the victory is in the bag or pay 10 people off and still risk getting KTFO? I'm afraid your conspiracy theory doesn't hold water. Go back to the drawing board and come back when you have a real theory that can be proven.
in the rematch, I hope we don't see Ward leaping off the ring post and trying to hit Kova with a flying elbow, Lucha Libre-style (there's probably a name for that move, "nuclear skull crusher" or something like that) the ref will probably let Ward get away with stuff like that though, but if Ward leaves the ring in the middle of a round, comes back in with a metal chair, and bashes Kova over the head with it, well...i don't want to sound too pro-Krusher here, but i think the ref should at least give Ward a warning.
Ward is given every close/swing round, Kova actually has to win the rounds he does clearly. This is why even though that fight is technically not really a robbery, I still think you have to be biased to score for Ward.
