stop being a clown. typical cricket twat. Cricket support is alright, nothing extraordinary. Not even better than a good away day at Hereford United. For the best support you have to go to japan. These guys are phenomenal http://youtube.com/watch?v=1D-x88biJkw&feature=related
the fact that thousands (more than for wicky) travelled to ****ing australia to support a team who were massive underdogs and despite getting thrashed kept singing and backing them speaks volumes. now go eat death, asswipe.
I get a big kick out of hearing them sing "walking in a winter wonder land". We've lost that spirit over here.
Would they heck! They would be huge if Ricky fought in Sheffield, Berlin, or Leningrad. Do you honestly think that they have travelled because of the bright lights? You haven't a clue if you do, there is so much more than that. What about our football fans travelling to Derby or Zurich Grasshopped on really shitty saturday afternoons with rain pouring down. The fans sing and chant their way through it. What about that video above? The Barmy Army, England supporters in Aus? There is so much more to it than Vegas, Vegas doesn't even come into the equation and I think you are very thoughtless to suggest so.
Its the European Futball mentality. They stick to their teams and show an insane amount of support. Ive felt it on a much smaller scale when 300 of my fellow Albanians came to my last amatuer fight and i expect bigger turnouts at my pro debut. Its a luxury i wish more American athletes could experiance.
that is pretty awe inspiring as well. those japanese ****s sing some gay songs, but the manner in which they sing them is inspiring. they make the YMCA sound impressive.
so it's purely about numbers. If there was a simple friendly (football) in Australia, more fans would turn up for ONE MATCH than who went over there for the whole cricket series ****.
They go crazy for sports because they don't have much else to cheer for. The country is dark, dreary, and depressing with so much rain and overcast year-around. No sunshine in their lives except for their over-hyped sports fans. Kinda sad, really.
If De La Hoya (the most popular american fighter) were to fight overseas in say wembley, how much would support would he get from American fans?
I agree, it certainily has its roots in football and in the lasting loyality as fans support their club over decades.
