I think he'd be very popular over here - from the press coverage we've had, he's been on the charm offensive with the UK. 50,000 bums on seats would be a definate possibility, and the time difference tends to work out better for US/european coverage. Given the state of the turf at Wembley Stadium, a really top-quality card may fill the place (90,000). But that's _alot_ of bums of seats.
I agree, thas why football is so huge, cause its huge in europe and europe has the wildes biggest fans
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YUu8BMYA5I - the team I love. I'm sure that Man U, Arsenal, or the other "dynasty" sides will be able to provide equal evidence of just how embedded football is into the British culture. YNWA.
Didn't you know, 5 European Cup wins, you get to keep the song? That aside, I'm sure Liverpool and Man U fans will both agree that today was a good day. Speaking of Celtic - an Old Firm derby would sure make a great introduction to our US counterparts that have never experienced a game of football. Definately one of the top-100 things to do before you die, but might be wise to leave it til last incase you get the wrong end of the ground.
its not just the English, think its a the British way, the Scots are second to none in our support for football, wish we had a boxer of our own to travel to Vegas to support, although most Scots supported Hatton last night and i imagine some might have went over.
i dont even like any english sides but thats bull, always silent whenever i watch except for really big games.
I used t think the same but I don't think we were now, I think it was Celtic. You might well be right though.
