Demian Maia came out of that fight more elevated than that punk Silva...

I respect White for saying that. I don't think that Maia should have got a title shot, the guy was knocked out in about 10 seconds two fights ago, so he didn't deserve to fight Silva anyway, but Silva was still a disgrace in the fight. Silva surely has to go to 205 now, because 185 just isn't a challenge for him anymore. Silva vs Rua - now that's a fight that would get people excited and would force Silva to produce maximum effort.

Though as has already been said on this thread, the real way to make it up to the fans would be the introduction of Fedor to the UFC.

Disrespect his opponent and do practically nothing for 3 rounds. What a complete joke. I'm not having all this rubbish about "Maia not being a worth opponent" supposedly being a factor either. If you want to see what great fighters and athletes do to fighters who aren't worthy than watch Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton, Roberto Duran vs Davey Moore, Julio Cesar Chavez vs Greg Haugen, whatever. Running around and disrespecting them is not the way to go about it. Silva has no excuses, he's just a big ****ing ****.

A few things. Mostly acted like a wanker to a guy who was totally outmatched for the first two rounds. Sort of if a bit distasteful, to taunt a guy who was a rubbish kickboxer vs the best striker in mma is a bit off, it is like Maia mounting Silva and mocking him for his pish escapes to an extent.

The mocking would have been accpetd if he had then KO'd Maia...

But then after subjecting Maia to bad verbal abuse and mocking him. He didnt engadge in the 4rth or 5th round. He literally ran.

Ricky Hatton wasn't a worthy opponent?! :yikes You tipped him to win! He was the number 1 in his division, a division he had never lost in! Crumbs. Revisionism at its very best/worst.

Anyway, the fact that Maia wasn't a worthy opponent is true, but there is no connection to Silva's behaviour, they are two separate points. A guy who got sparked in 10 seconds in his fight before last should not be fighting for a world title, that's just standard. But the fight happened, and Silva's behaviour was absolutely unforgivably disgraceful. The clowning around doesn't bother me as much, I mean it is pretty pointless and tasteless, but it's not exactly a crime. Roy Jones used to do it a lot as well. It was the refusal to engage for the last 3 rounds that just turned my stomach. So many people paid good money to see an honest contest, and they got an arrogant arsehole running the clock down and just taking the ****. I hope Dana forces Silva to take a murderous assignment next. If Silva is serious about fighting at heavyweight, stick him in there with Dos Santos or Velasquez, see how he clowns around then!

Oh you dramatic little ****wit. Get your head out of Manny's ass and read what I'm saying. Before this fight a lot of people gave Maia a slight chance due to his strengths on the ground, and we've seen Silva troubled there before against Lutter. It turned out that he wasn't worthy at all. Same thing with Pacquiao vs Hatton, many people gave Hatton a chance because 140lbs was his division, but it turned out that he wasn't worthy, Manny was just in another class. It's not revisionism at all, Hatton turned out to be no match for the Filipino. Jesus...:patsch

    ...That's what I said.

Anderson should have punched White in the mouth. That's really outrageous him grabbing Andersons belt and making these comments. Another great fighter can publicly say these things, but not a trailer park dwelling failed boxing promoter with erectile dysfunction. KILL ZUFFA.

Didn't you know Polymath, Silva isn't in the business of fighting. Plus, Dana White would be no match for Silva so to land a strike on him would be almost impossible.

Only a ****ing inbred would have given Maia a chance. He got sparked with one punch not long ago, his stand-up is mediocre, his resume is decent at best. He did not justify a title shot, so to make an analogy with Pacquiao challenging Hatton is just ******ed. You were closer with Chavez and Greg Haugen.

You should've left it at that then, and not bothered with the shite comparison that didn't work.

Roberto Duran was never favored to beat Davey Moore either but that was still an appropriate comparison to make. Forget about Demian Maia deserving a title shot, it's completely irrelevant to absolutely anything and everything, when it came down to it, Moore wasn't on Duran's level, Hatton wasn't on Pacquiao's level, and Maia wasn't on Silva's level. That is all that matters, and I made those accurate comparisons because when Duran and Pacquiao realized they were in with an inferior fighter, they finished the fight or at least tried too. Silva didn't and it turned your stomach, I'm not surprised.

That's what proper fighters and proper Athletes do when they realize that they are in against inferior opposition, they do everything in their power to emphasize the disparity in class, not run around and showboat like an *******.

Nothing further to add. You took my comments out of context, and made a big issue out of something that was neither relevant or important.

You look for arguments and debates that aren't there, Popkins.
