Everybody knows racism only exists when a non black person is saying it, black people can't be racist, I mean they were slaves or something 3million years ago, and this absolves them of everything.
Actually, it was less than 150 years ago. Anyway, I remember when Dog the bounty hunter got caught using racial slurs, not only did alot of posters here defend his freedom of speech, but they blasted the network for putting his show on hiatus. What do you want to happen to Nard? Do you want Golden Boy to fire him? I don't get it, he didn't even use a racial slur. Should he be banned from fighting again? It was definately in poor taste, but I've heard worse. And for the record, yes even black people will be held to the fire for inappropriate remarks. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2816356
Obviously I was exaggerating, I know how long ago it was. He brought up race and made it an issue where it didn't need to be one, that is pretty close to racism and just backs up my point about the horrendous double standards.....
Hops is trying to hype the fight because he knows it will be his last:deal at 43 he can't fight a full 3 minutes anymore for 12 rounds, unlike Cali who throws throws and throws, without tiring, **** in Hops last fight against Wright he looked like he was at a Wedding or Family reunion with all of the hugging he was doing:-( JC will beat him easier than he did Kesseler..:good
I know you were exaggerating. Did you read the article from the link I posted? Where is the double standard? What do you want to happen to Hopkins? Are people supposed to be outraged and protest his fights?
My dad is half Italian does that not make me White? I thought Italians were white? And I don't give a **** about what Hopkins said. If Calzaghe said I will never lose to a black man I wouldn't care about that either.
I remember reading that Ali said something like "beaten by a blond? I don't think so..." before he fought Joe Bugner. That seemed pretty light hearted (although Ali did subscribe to some crazy racist beliefs in his younger days) and wasn't taken as racist. Hopkins remark seems harder edged...and was badly judged. But foolish though it was, I don't think it is proof that BHop is a racist. He was trying to stir up interest in the fight. It does prove he needs to be more careful about public remarks. Difficult for a boxer to apologise without losing his tough guy image...
He is selling the fight AND he may be a bit racist. Sending your kids to school with a bunch of white kids doesn't amount to anything. Hopkins has the money to send his kids to an expensive private school and that is all it is.
The last time I checked Italy was right next to France, Spain and Germany. A pretty white neighborhood.
I think Hopkins is merely speaking the truth. Ain't now way he ever loses to no white boy....especially one as overrated as Calzaghe. :smoke
obama said today. "aint no way i am losing to some white bird from little rock " george bush when told about the quote said " who the **** is obama ?"
