Wild fight !....Lopez always seemed to fall just short. But Lopez by split decision. But may not reign too long due the brutal title fights he was in over the past years.
I felt so bad for Yaqui, what a tough and talented guy, came so close many times. There should be a title for guys like him.
Yaqui Lopez will never be forgotten because of that ring magazine fight of the year 1980 with Mathew Saad Muhummad and that memorable 8th. YL had enough heart for a brigade of marines and his toughness and attitude meant he would be competitive in any LHW era . Lopez was one of the toughest fighters to ever grace the light heavy division. But Braxton had a little to much everything with exception of height over Lopez. A wild fight it would be for as long as it last. But Braxton would eventually chop Lopez down.
This is a great match up and would make for an entertaining fight. I have little doubt though that Braxton would tear him a part in the end. I think Lopez like always would make one hell of a fight of it but like usual against top opponents would come up short. I see Braxton around the 8th breaking him down and taking him out.
Can't understand anyone picking Lopez over Braxton. Lopez was good but Braxton was a more complete fighter. If he made Braxon come to him he'd have a chance, but more likely Braxton would lull him into a war and counter him to death. Braxton by late tko or decision.
