Illegal Wraps on Margarito.....

It's entirely possible Shane was on something, they still can't test for a number of substances and he does have a history.

The focus on this thread should still fall on Margo's wraps, though, because it's not like he would just start using the wraps last night and it's one of the worst offenses you can do in boxing. It calls alot of his career into question, especially once he started fighting and beating higher levels of fighters despite being as raw as he was skillwise.

 

It's sad, but Margo should be tried or just deported. Doing this kind of thing can cause irreperable damage to a fighter. He doesn't have one-punch ko power, so he just busts his opponents up, and they suffer a prolonged beatdown. Margo could kill somebody.
I would put him and his trainers ass in jail on assault charges and ban him and his trainers for life.

 

the weird thing is- it kind of makes sense now that margos hands have been loaded. he dosent have killer ko power- yet for some reason against opponents- the other guy always broke down much more rapidly than he ever did. it was always accounted to him being a beast- having a granite chin- and having killer shots. but this explains alot. especially against cotto- whom we know takes a great body shot- and has great stamina- yet was literally falling apart against margo. true- he got buzzed and stunned every now and then- but the way he got shattered against margo was as if- he was being swung at with bricks- now we know he literally was. i wonder how this changes the way we view that fight. then again- shane cheated against dlh- and people havent given that win to oscar yet.

thats the shame about boxing - that fights cant be overturned after the fact. i think oscar and shane- as well as cotto margo ( if found guilty) should both be overturned into no contests.

I wouldn't be surprised if Shane were on the "clear"...quite honestly nothing surprises me in boxing or any sport any longer.

Maybe this is the reason why Shane was so diplomatic after the fight.

My son boxes professionally at super-middle. He has a tender right hand(tendon) that requires me to put some extra guaze over his knuckles. This is done to protect his hand. Margarito was trying to load his gloves, both in fact. For the purpose of gaining an advantage and inflicting extra punishment on his opponent. However, there is justice which is why it was great to see Mosley KO his ass. He should have a lengthy suspension, maybe lifetime. Also they better start schooling the hand and glove inspectors a little better. They should have caught it, not Richardson. Poor Cotto, he needed Richardson in his corner that night...

 

Sorry, im what you call an "armchair boxing fan" so don't know the ins and outs of wraps etc.

I think it's distgusting what Marg has done, but surely this would do as much damage to Marg's hands as it would anyone's face?

This doesn't make sense to me. It's customary for an opposition second to be present WHEN a fighters hands are wrapped, not to wander in sometime later

 

Yeh I was just wondering how this pad got there without someone noticing.Margos hands must have been partially wrapped when Richardson walked in.
