Illegal Wraps on Margarito.....

If it is true, then ban him and his corner for good. Also, there should be some crow eating from the moronic segment of this forum who said that Cotto quit.

 

This isnt good for Margo....The hand wrap and beatdown, the ducking of Williams, the way that he wouldnt fight Shan unless Arum promised he could have a rematch with Cotto win or lose, all spells bad for him going forward...If Cotto could somehow come up with a win over Tony it maybe the end for him.

 

We aren't talking about a monstrous WW puncher like Cintron who you could say might plaster his hands. Were talking about accumulative puncher like Margarito.
It amazes me how people are so quick to lash out at the guy, and vote him off the island without any logic.

 

Because the violation was caught before Margarito stepped into the ring, Margarito's camp will likely be subject to little more than a disciplinary action if the substance is found to be illegal.

i won't judge it til i hear exactly what it was
he also made tito rewrap his hands before the hopkins fight
in which it was a case of his man using an excessive amount of tape that they said makes the wraps harder in any case wait til they tell the whole story

 

generally in boxing it is the trainer that gets banned for this kinda ****....fighters get fined.

 

why margo wouldnt ilegally wrap his hands against cotto?

cotto is younger, stronger with a better jab and also beat mosley . if you ask me he used them against cotto

 

anybody knows if cotto can get his undefeated record back because of this

LOS ANGELES -- Welterweight titleholder Antonio Margarito was forced to re-wrap his hands before Saturday night's defense against Shane Mosley at Staples Center after Mosley trainer Nazim Richardson discovered an abnormality during the pre-fight inspection.

"It was a plaster-like substance," Golden Boy Promotions attorney Stephen Espinoza told ESPN.com. "It was bagged up by the commission and taken as evidence."

Espinoza said that Dean Lohuis, co-executive director of the California State Athletic Commission, said it was discovered under both of Margarito's wraps.

Margarito's camp could not be reached for comment.

Richardson originally had objected to the amount of tape on Margarito's hands and when it was removed, the foreign substance was discovered, Espinoza said.

Richardson, who trains Bernard Hopkins, had also objected to Felix Trinidad's hand wraps before their historic 2001 undisputed middleweight championship fight. Trinidad was forced to have his hands re-wrapped and Hopkins went on to knock him out in the 12th round to unify titles.

Richardson is the guy you want in your corner if you are a top fighter.

 

Can someone explain exactly what was used and how it works. What we have now is his hands were wrapped illegally, causing 3 re wraps

 

nobody is lashing ...the man was caught by officals ..being a cheat this isn't an internet rumore this is fact
