    Ilunga Makabu is a 28 year old 6'2 Cruiserweight/Heavyweight with a 19-1 18 KO's 1 KO loss. Makabu while losing his first fight by way of KO has been on a path of destruction through the Cruiserweight Division ever since, racking up 18 KO's in 20 fights. This Southpaw from the Democratic People's Republic of the Congo who now lives in South Africa is one of the more exciting fighters at CW a Division which gets absolutely no attention whatsoever, which is very unfortunate especially since its been heating up lately. He's great at attacking and walking down opponents but all the while in a defensively responsible James Toney kind of way, he's slicker than you think he is, and is heavy handed as hell, he managed to stop the iron chinned Glen Johnson which is definitely no easy feat, the only match he's had that went the distance was against tough as nails Ukrainian Dmytro Kucher in a very close match, that I scored a draw, they were both undefeated. Stylistically he's the antithesis of fellow African Cruiserweight star Thabiso Mchunu, who he stopped brutally in their match.     Can you imagine Nathan frickin' Cleverly was supposed to fight this guy in his CW debut until he suddenly pulled out?! :!: (don't know what the official reason was, but the real reason is pretty obvious)

    I was dumbfounded and laughing when that fight was announced and said they must not have watched film of him and will cancel the fight when they do, sure enough.

    Makabu is one of my favourite current fighters to watch, he really reminds of James Toney at times.

    The Kucher fight is badass, one of the best in the division in recent years
