Not sure what Jacks ambitions are nowadays, hes fighting one of the big dogs at cruiserweight way past his prime. Surely hes getting smashed here. Makabu is still operating st world level. Easy paycheck for jack to get a beating?
I've got the feeling they're pushing towards Jake Paul vs. Badou Jack...so i wouldn't be shocked if Jack gets a decision somehow. But Makabu really should beat him.
Makabu put it beyond doubt on the beltline, surely? I thought Jack's performance against Rivera was better than most people, I had it very close, so there's that. But I don't even think these styles match up well for Jack, he's older, all he has going for him is activity and he's a slow starter, by form. So even if Makabu takes time to shake off the rust...still, as has been mentioned already, anything in Paul's gravity is going to be more than a little suspect.
“I want Badou to keep one thing in mind: I’m going to break your nose, I’m going to break your jaw, I’m going to break your ribs. I’ve been world champion for many years. I’m a dangerous boxer. There’s no way Badou can take my punch."
Sure... Makabu struggled against Mchunu in his last outing, but let's be perfectly honest here. No version of Badou Jack wins a round against Mchunu. Especially a version coming off of back to back top notch wins over Tishchenko and Lebedev. Before struggling against Mchunu, he looked subpar against Papin and Cieslak.... but here's the catch, Badou Jack wouldn't see the 4th round against either of them. Makabu will wreck him.
Love Badou Jack but not at this age with this wear and tear. In his prime he was one of the best body punchers in the game but now I just hope he doesn't get hurt permanently. I think he gets stopped in this one.
