I like them both, may the best man win, but I prefer Dorticos style over Briedis' so I lean his way, regardless, both men destroy Makabu in 3 rounds tops.
I still haven't quite forgiven Makabu for letting that asshat Bellew off the hook allowing him wind me up up for a number of years as a legit world champ. For me it goes Dorticos or Gassiev then Glowacki before I give a **** about anyone else really.
Been trying in vain to figure that out for half an hour. Translating all these idiots on Twitter reporting on the verdict in Polish and French, not one has bothered mentioning scores or decision type.
I haven't either, that stung, big time. Although to look for the silver lining.... it did end up raising Usyk's stock even more, especially after the run Makabu has gone on as of late. For the record, I still resent Glowacki for KOing Huck, who I've been a low level fanboy of for years, so seeing Briedis massacre him didn't bother me all that much. Because Briedis was responding to a rabbit punch with the elbow, got punished for it and it's not his fault Robert Byrd is deaf.
My recording isn't great and got interrupted a few times, but if by tomorrow all those live-streamed FB videos "mysteriously disappear" (in some big all-Congo nationwide cover-up, due to all the shady crap) I'll toss it on YouTube.
I didn't score it because I was watching it on a very small screen and in not the best quality. But I felt it was very close and my gut feeling was Cieslak didn't deserve to lose albeit my opinion on that could change upon second viewing. What in god's name was he doing when he got dropped though? He just turned away and started walking off for some strange reason and gave Makabu two free shots at him and ended up getting dropped and badly hurt. Terrible mistake on his part and it cost him dear.
Round 1 - Cieslak 10-9 Round 2 - Cieslak 10-9 Round 3 - Cieslak 10-9 Close Round 4 - Makabu 10-8 - Holy **** Makabu ain't got no chill. Round 5 - Cieslak 10-8 - elevator fight, up and down they go. Round 6 - Makabu 10-9 Close Round 7 - Makabu 10-9 Round 8 - Makabu 10-9 Close Round 9 - Makabu 10-9 Round 10 - Cieslak 10-9 Close Round 11 - Makabu 10-9 Round 12 - Makabu 10-9 Close 114-112 Makabu Very fun fight despite the shenanigans. The WBC should probably order a rematch. Also funny how Michael Griffin, who is the refeere, went from refereeing the Heavyweight championship in MSG to this shitshow.
