Unexpected. Could be finalized soon for Cinco de Mayo weekend, already has the WBC greenlight. This would be Makabu's second defense of their cruiserweight title.

    1. I wouldn't be surprised if every fight Canelo has had after GGG 1 has been rigged.
    2. This fight will most certainly be rigged, expect Makabu to throw the WEAKEST looking jabs he's ever thrown, and pull every punch ( watch Kovalev vs Yarde then watch him fight Clen)
    3. Clen will roid up and gain 20+lbs of pure muscle miraculously and not lose any endurance
    4. Expect this fight to go very deep before a stoppage to make it seem "real"

Makabu wouldn't need to be hindered in all of the usual ways if the fight was totally fixed. He has no real chance though.

Is this the guy who Bellew ko'd? He weighs 199 pounds! Is Canelo going to drain him down to 168?

But what about the Super Middleweight Titles he just won? Don't you think he should focus on defending those as Undisputed Champ? If he picks up a Cruiserweight Title then what? I don't know about you, but I think it's important that an Undisputed Champ defend the Undisputed as Champion. Becoming Undisputed is one thing, but being a great Undisputed Champion is another. This is just too much weight jumping for me, and right after winning Undisputed this shifts focus away from what he just did. What make Undisputed exciting is finally seeing all the titles defended, so anyone in the division has an opportunity of being Undisputed. That's the whole point. Why throw all that away by moving up to CW? If his plan is to move up to CW then jump all the way back down to SMW to defend his titles, then he's not going to be the same fighter he is now. He could say he won another title in another division, but how important is that really? Isn't it more important to be the best Super Middleweight Champ he could possibly be? If he vacates the SMW Titles it would be disappointing. I think it would be fun to see how long he can reign as Undisputed. I get why he'd want to go up to CW, to chase more history, but he's already making history at SMW.

Exactly. Huge fights at light heavy and he picks this guy???
And afterwards his little fans will tell everyone how Canelo could have beaten Holyfield.

I was about to cry racist for implying every African name sounds alike, but - had to rein up short and be impressed that you actually picked a fellow Congolese to splice w/ Junior's. :sisi1 Unless that was just a lucky bullseye in the dark for you, in which case - nice shootin', Tex.

Of course I know who Mr. Not In My House is...but didn't remember instantaneously that his nationality happened to be DRC. I'm not some crazy stalker with posters of him on my ceiling waiting to someday hopefully sex Mutombo.

...now, Yao Ming, on the other hand. :asskisser

You're not the only one who thinks that's the case. NordicWarrior has said in his videos "Canelo's fights are fake." In addition, Kovalev said people were stupid if they thought he could win.

Yao Ming over Dikembe Motombo is about as surprising as Canelo fighting Makabu.

This is the old formula. It's too expensive to stage a good vs good fight so they stage good vs big instead.
