For this fight Makabu needs to go for a KO straight away. Hes quite chinny and hittable but hes skillful and powerful.

Don't call me a clown, this is a forum not twitter, if you can't have a debate without name calling, then perhaps this isn't the website for you, I mean, I didn't even say anything bad to you
Anyway, you just said he was old, you didn't specify that you didn't mean his age, it's shopworn if someone is washed due to wars, like Saad Muhammad who was washed in his late 20s, regardless, what wars has he been in? The Papin fight was a Good fight, but he didn't take lots of flush punches, he got hurt in the last round and that was it, he took some punches in the Cieslak fight, but that's the only 'war' he's been in, even if he had been in a few wars, Holyfield had took more punishment before the Tyson fight and he still looked very good
You said Makabu cant make 175lbs, then in the same breath you said he's not a natural Crusierweight, wtf? He might not be big for a cruiserweight, but if he can't make 175lbs then he is naturally a cruiserweight, 190lbs would be perfect weight for Makabu and IMO Crusierweight should've stayed 190lbs limit

I can't knock Canelo for this because he is after all 5'7'' and is going up in weight even if the champion might not be the best.

Makabu is a big puncher but Canelo is the much better boxer.

It's interesting but all this weight jumping might eventually catch up with him.

Very good analyse about the guy! you nail it! he may not be a corpse like Kova was.But still get KO(can someone post a video) and had like you say,he had very weary fights wich take a toll on his body. And Canelo fans will be in awe if he get the KO.

Makabu might survive...if he get punch enough in the face with Canelo peds fists. That way he will get some of Canelo strenght.

Why didn't Pacquiao fight the #1 LW and the #1 JrMW?

Why didn't Lomachenko fight the #1 SFW?

Why didn't Usyk fight the #1 HW?

Why do you hold Canelo to different standards?

Pacquiao moves to 135 and 154 to fight low tier fighters for a title at that weight.. people say he does incredible things.

Lomachenko picks up a title at 130 without facing the top dog there... he's a living legend.

Usyk moves up a single division, has 2-3 fights there before facing a China chin #3 HW... he's arguably the best HW since Ali LOL

Canelo who started his career at 140, won belts and fought at 154, 160, 168, 175 always against a top 1-3 in those divisions... now decides to fight a top 3 CW... he's a cherry picker. LmAO...

Here is where you see who the haters are. They are angry with this announcement.. for a reason.

I agree that Pacquaio skipped some challenges on his way through 8 divisions. But there's no way Usyk could have got the Fury fight - Fury was contracted to fight Wilder as we found out. Thus, Joshua was the best available opponent. Are you seriously saying this is the same as Canelo taking Makabu over Briedis?

If you check my post history, I haven't been criticizing the Makabu fight, but you surely realize that comparing to Usyk vs Joshua is not a winning argument?

Golovkin drags a retired 154 fighter who hadn't fought for two years to 160, gives him like a 3 week notice, as a result gets stripped of IBF title for taking that fight without committing to defend it against SD, and everyone sings him praises.

Canelo moves up to his 5th division 50 lbs of where he started pro, takes on a top three CW instead of testing the waters against a lower tier CW, and his haters are crying foul. Lmao!!

I don't know man. I don't think Fury and to be fair most fighters move up to a heavier division, one where they are considerably outsized and fight the #1 man there.

The standards Canelo is held to by his haters is comical to say the least. Lol

If Canelos next 3 fights are Makabu, Beterbiev and Breidis that is absolutely insane.

Makabu itself as a fight is absolutely insane.

There's no way to call someone jumping from SMW to CW against a reigning belt holder and top 3 opponent, a cherry pick.

The definition just does not apply.

Yes it does, because he deliberately skipped over the two most dangerous CW champs....Brieidis and Okolie...just so he can claim another link on his "legacy". Only on paper 50 years from now would a victory over this guy will look good. We all k now what he's doing....picking off the weakest champ in a division just so it looks good to the casual observers.

AND IN ADDITION...he skipped over the two most dangerous Light Heavy Weights.....Bivol and Beterviev..just to get to this guy you neither you nor I had every heard of before yesterday.

As far as having an "easy" fight once in a while...he's had 6 "easy" fights out of his last 7 fights before GGG. And the hard one was Danny Jacobs.

He's become a farce. He's everything that's wrong with present day boxing. Cherry picking weak boxers or making them weak through draining them or making them fight on short notice after tough bouts.
