Irrelevant...this thread is about Canelo. Start up a Pac or Loma thread to discuss their history.

For a start, you don't jump up from SMW to CW at all for a cherry pick. That's not a thing.

Secondly, why have you never heard of Makabu? Are you not a boxing fan?

Thirdly Makabu is ranked above Okolie by both Ring and TBRB.

Fourthly, you're saying that when he beat every belt holder in SMW one after the other, they are all the easy fights?

Either you're trolling or this convo is over mate.

Practically every one in here was calling Plant and Callum Smith bums and easy pickings. Most siad BJS was good but was going to lose.
Fielding....no comment. Yildrim...no comment. Canelo deliberately picked 168 because those champs were poor to fair boxers, not one was a threat to hiim on paper or in the opinion of most observers. ANd he went DOWN to 168 after winning a 175 belt from an alcoholic, old guy who has admitted it was jsut a payday for him. Had Canelo stayed at 175 and fought Bivol or Beterviev I'd be the first one in here calling it a great fight match and give props to Canelo.

No I don't keep track of boxers from the Congo, sue me.

I do it wherever I see an opportunity.

Since when is it cherry picking to move up in weight and not fight the top fighter there, because if that's your standard then every fighter that have ever moved up is a cherry picker.

Since when do boxers who are the top money maker and generally considered the PFP best in the world not fight another top 10
boxers at any weight? Since the term "cherry pick" was invented perhaps?

Right, top 3 CW. In other words, Canelo is ducking the top two in that division.

He beat every single belt holder in a division. That's the opposite of cherry picking.

Makabu is not an unknown, he's been around for years. He lost to Bellew.
