    Man yall are really reaching
    I’m a fan of Usyk

but not a fan of him over the integrity of the sport.
He was extremely fortunate to receive the call & “advice” from provolone who insisted he take the entire 5 min to recover.

    It’s A-$ide treatment.
If it’s good to call it out against mayweather & Canelo -
Then For Usyk it should be no different …
    “what’s good for the goose….”

I'm not watching this dude with all due respect. Clear agenda.

And nqh for Usyk trunks. He wasn't wearing them high. He is one of the few HWs that is actually wearing them exactly on the spot. His belly button is exactly on the upper level of the belt line, which indicates anything lower is a lowblow.
This is not my interpretation this is by the lowblow rules.
And a clear FACTS of my statement about Usyk trunks and the rules.

You must be blind and stupid to not see that it was under the belt.

I doubt it, regardless of what Usyk says. Usyk was the B-side, away fighter, a 1/8 favourite vs Chisora and regarded as a serious potential threat to Joshua. So anything less than total domination of Chisora (preferably with a stoppage) was risky, especially falling that far below expectations (Usyk rated his performance as a 3/10). Look at what happened to former Usyk opponent Matchroom's Hunter when he fought 40+ Povetkin: most thought Hunter won a narrow decision but he was regarded as a threat to Joshua and Whyte, so they gave Hunter a draw and Povetkin got the nod to face Whyte instead. And Hunter was surely regarded as less threatening than Usyk, given that Usyk dominated him at cruiser and became undisputed. Also look at the scorecards in the Bellew fight: Matchroom had previously tried to rob Usyk. But Usyk saved himself from a potential robbery by sparking Bellew in 8. I don't believe that Usyk went the distance with Joshua by choice either: for all he knew he could have been robbed in one of those fights, especially the 2nd where he almost was. And while Joshua's better than Chisora in key respects, he's not necessarily harder to stop.

The fan consensus was that Usyk beat Chisora 9-3 or 8-4 but according to Boxrec, Chisora had competitive rounds in 9 and 10 on top of his strong start in the first 4. Some on the RBR had it a draw (not all Usyk haters either) so it wouldn't have been massively controversial. Usyk's manager was allegedly worried about a draw, which he's never denied to my knowledge. Only one more round needed to go Chisora's way on two cards. Usyk could have still not looked threatening and played it safe over 12 while greatly reducing the robbery risk by not having competitive late rounds with Chisora. And in Chisora's next fight most had him beating backfoot Parker, which is also consistent with giving Usyk a decent fight.

There’s no “reaching” about it - “he was wearing them that high.
His belly button wasn’t visible theentire fight.” Is a direct quote from you, I have just pointed out an instance within around a minute of the fight starting where his belly is clearly visible.
I havnt even bothered to look at the other 26minutes as you have been proved wrong already.

All fair points DP. Being evenhanded, I’ve noted before that Usyk has appeared a touch vulnerable to the body - including the effects of some shots landed by AJ in the rematch.

Notwithstanding complexion, a fighters legit moment is his moment, even if against the run of play.

It shouldn’t be that way but a fighter who gets screwed officially but who is losing anyway often gets far less sympathy than a similarly victimised guy who is winning.

Turn around victories are as legit as any other win - and they are very much a part of all things the sport thrives on.

Another thing I didn’t address is the question of where Usyk wears his trunks.

Tbh, I’ve never noticed them to be high - and on specific review, they didn’t appear unusually high - and certainly not as compared to Dubois, which can be seen most clearly during pre fight instructions.

Additionally, I never thought I’d be investigating boxers navels/belly buttons - but here I am. Lol. There’s not much to the average navel - if not visible, the top of the button still may well be just below the waist band and not deep into the waistband after that.

Upon checking I’ve yet to see a navel actually visible - and that includes fighters wearing their trunks exactly where you would expect them to sit naturally.

Refs generally indicate the line in the sand for a low blow - rightly or wrongly, most indicate the top of the waistband as that line.

Maybe the refs should get both fighters to fold down the top of their waistbands for confirmation of the exact location of each man’s belly button - haha.

Low blows, to be or not to be, have often and long been argued over since the dawn of MOQ boxing.

One final thing re Usyk - if vulnerable to the body, I would think there is scope to better condition and toughen up that potential target area - unlike the quality of a chin of course.

I’ve always felt that Olek has looked a touch soft in the abs area - and that little bit more so for this fight - perhaps an area he doesn’t attend to as much as the rest of the body.

Of course, looks can belie - when second career Ali no longer had the visible abs he once sported - opponent Ken Norton still observed that punching Ali to the body was like punching a slab of concrete (or a similar description to that effect).

Suffice to say, even The Belly might have a resilient six pack hiding under that beer barrel, Keg of a stomach of his. :D

Fighters who wear their shorts high like Dubois and Belly among many others are cheating. Point blank period, period.

Shadow, nice to see you again, but if there are two concepts you clearly do not understand, it's logic and evidence.

If there's anyone in doubt of that...go look up Shadow's flat earth thread

Come on Shadow....the only part of Dubois's glove touching the lowest part of the belt during impact, was his thumb

It was not a a low blow. Dubois should be champ.
Another regionally fixed fight. A belt shot isn't low.

I’m actually thinking of marketing prosthetic belly buttons specifically for boxers and participants in other combat sports where adjudication on possible low blows might come into play.

The prosthesis shouldn’t be too outrageously placed, of course.

Suffice to say, an allocated position between and only slightly below the lower end of the pecs might raise a few eyebrows - but hey, then again, we’re not all built exactly the same, are we? People should be duly prohibited from “body shaming”.

Not to be a w***er, but my genius idea could well exceed the epic proportions and sales of the Foreman Grill. The possibilities are endless.
