Look I love watching Floyd fight, I've been to his fights live, and I'd pick him to beat Pacquiao. So i am not talking about anything in the ring itself. Pacquiao and Arum are a different story. Floyd's had his arrogance for years but it's been more of a character thing. I happen to like it and the numbers show the public does as well. But, like I said, it was a character and it was easy to find humble Floyd videos, interviews, etc... But now Floyd is like living in WWE character whenever a camera or notepad is in front of him. Full out over the top act. I mean, listen, regardless of the athletic gene pool, anyone who has Floyd Mayweather, Sr as a father is going to have to work through some issues. So i've always cut the guy a lot of slack. But damn it is now just plain ass annoying. I love when he talks technically about the sport but all it ever is now is bull****. I look forward to his next fight but i wish he would get real for a minute.
I do like Mayweather myself and also believe his bull**** and OTT is all an act. But the problem is, if you put on a mask long enough it becomes a face. Hes been doing it for so long now he probably doesn't even realise it anymore, annoying a lot of fans along the way it seems. But from his POV he doesnt really give a **** what you or i think. We'll still watch his fights, as most other people would judging from his PPV numbers.
All I have to say is there's a reason why Floyd is #3 on the Forbes list and why Pacquiao is #20. Pacquiao may have the hearts of the general public but you tell me what's a more huge driving force in this world? Love or hate? Floyd is unquestionably the bad guy of the sport. No denying it. Pacquiao is the proclaimed good guy. Floyd has done what he had too to be boxings biggest draw and most benefited with making the most in the sport. Not only does he have his fan base of those who love him but also has the corner on the market of those who hate him and pay just to see him lose. He's no saint but it's just a character he plays to boost his sells. He's signed to the same promotional company that 50 Cent and other so called "grimy" people in showbusiness are signed with. The bad guy role is very profitable. I wouldn't take it so serious and to heart what Floyd says and does outside the ring. He's a business man. He definately has learned how to sell water to a well.
Guy doesn't like dicks but is looking forward giving his next blowjob... :-( I don't dislike Mayweather as a boxer, just him as a person. He's an arrogant, stupid, coward... If he's not fighting Pac, I'm not interested in seeing this bum fighting another subpar boxer like he's been doing for years... Why care about seeing him fighting 2nd rate, past their prime or smaller opponents while dodging the real competition? His fans... And if you do, you're being taken for a ride... Even WWE characters fight each other...
Not buying it. Floyd didn't go looking for the bad guy role to make money. He got it by avoiding fellow top fighters and then crowing about being the greatest. If he'd have fought Tszyu, Cotto, Margo, Clottey, Williams, Pac, Mosley when it was relevant, Berto, etc. and won them all, or even most of them. He'd have a reason to boast like he does. But he didn't fight a single one of them. That makes real boxing fans irritable. He's got the bad guy image and people want to see him lose because he's a chicken ****, fraidy cat champion. Problem is, he won't fight anyone with a legit shot at beating him, so we get even more irritated.
This is a revelation I had back in 08. I knew he wasn't serious about proving he was the best around so I just stopped hoping for big fights that are competitive. Sorta like if you like a band and their music becomes very formulaic and repetitive, then you lose interest in the band and their future products. Floyd stopped achieving and started running the numbers and doing the risk assessments that make sure he keeps his 0 and the marketing campaign behind it.
which at the end of the day only benefits himself. he is like a diaper, only serves its purpose during its lifetime. floyd's tactics and character (or at least what he portrays) won't stand the test of time. why? because all the things that make people hate him are not admirable. only his skills are respectable, that's that.
relax....the fight will happen...and when it does...all this whining from both parties will be completely irrelevant...and people on forums are not going to make a fight happen any quicker...get over it.
And even then, we don't know the extent since he won't face the real opposition. But, better let people think you're stupid than opening your mouth and showing that you are... Same goes for Floyd, if he doesn't fight serious boxers, he won't lose and stay undefeated! He thinks that means anything, while everybody is talking about cowardness and him ducking Pac... atsch He'll go down in history as a coward who never fought the real competition: A fraud, joke, call it whatever you want...
