He fought Calzaghe at 175 you buffon. He dragged Calzaghe up in weight. I suppose it's OK Hopkins doing that, but not Golovkin because skin colour is important

Look, again, I understand the frustration. But no self respecting businessman accepts a flat fee for their fighter 12 months in advance, when the fight will generate millions in PPV.

K2 have said they will negotiate an overall percentage. There is nothing wrong with that. That can still be in GBP's favour, so nobody can say they won't make concessions.

GBP aren't fooling any knowledgeable fans.

What does GG bring to the table? More viewers ($'s) than any other fight Canelo could be involved in except a Floyd rematch, as well as 3 of the 4 MW belts, and all of them if he could beat BJS.

Both guys need each other.

Canelo's reputation has taken a huge hit, and he's not doing huge numbers against anyone else at MW.

I know Jacobs team is responsible for their fair share of games. The mandatory split only applies if it goes to a purse bid. He can always negotiate for a bigger split as long as it does not go to a purse bid. Frankly I think he is a glorified #1 contender and his title is absolute paper. I don't feel he deserves any more than 25-30%. But when you follow this forum you would only think it was Jacobs fault. Loeffler has been contradicting himself from the get go and playing games of his own. Its tiresome. I just want it to go to a purse bid so we can get this show on the road. Unfortunately Loeffler wants to avoid it because of the risk of the fight being put on another network. Boxing has a system when negotiations don't go anywhere. That system cannot work if negotiations keep getting extended. If Jacobs is not budging get that purse bid going and f*ck him if he vacates because of 25%. Otherwise pay him to get the fight secured for HBO.

Maybe Golovkin should be given credit for taking on great challenges at 147? But you know, we can't give him credit because skin colour is of vital importance.

 

For the GGG-Canelo fight I think it would be wise for GGGs team to wait. Especially if they manage to pick up the last title GGGs worth goes up. Their currently negotiating with BJS and they could force Canelo to give them more money because all roads will lead to GGG.

 

did he not fight calzaghe and many other top light heavies?...the guy took on all of the top fighters from 160-175 even after his mw reign was over...lol...

I try to be objective but to some GGG cheerleaders that makes me a hater. I am not a Jacobs fan and just want this fight to happen or for GGGs team to move on. I would prefer it to happen though and will be rooting for GGG to win by KO before 6.
