I'm a GGG fan but this is getting ridiculous!

Being the champ is irrelevant for GGG here. Hopkins was the champ against Tito and Oscar and still took less to get the fights made. He realized that he wasn't the bigger draw and made concessions. GGG won't even do that he's a diva. Hopkins besides money had everything to lose and nothing to gain if we go by what you said about GGG. Difference is Hopkins dared to be great GGG hasn't.

 

almost everyone dares to be great.....hopkins, ward, kovalev, loma.....we could go on and on.....but not golovkin...and according to his fans he doesnt have to.....his career is secure as the ATG he is....i mean...just look at how close he is to hopkins mw record! lol

 

Hopkins got offered to fight 'feather fisted' Calzaghe at 168, for a heck of a lot more money than he got for fighting Morrade Harker (unlike GGG who Ward demand take a pay cut). At this point too Hopkins had 11 fights more than GGG, was 4 years older and was 5 years more into his career.

But we shouldn't give Hopkins a hard time for this, just GGG. Because of their respective skin colours.

I wanna see Golovkin fight the biggest names and of that means accepting less than ideal offers to get him those big fights, I say he does it.

If rather see him against Canelo, Jacobs and Saunders than not to be totally honest mate.

history wont judge how or when it happened.....it just knows that it did....and right now were staring at golovkin not making a single big fight and shunning a 10 mil offer from the biggest star in boxing....

when did ward demand ggg take a pay cut? last i'd heard from gggs fans no offer was ever made(because ggg immediately rebuffed wards contact and told him to go away).....ggg doesnt have the balls to fight ward...especially if ward beats kovalev....the minute he takes that UD loss his whole aura goes away...and his career is built on that aura....

even the staunchest ggg excuse makers can see at this point that golovkin aint built like hopkins

 

I think both situations are largely different though. When concerning Canelo-GGG I think it would be foolish to take a flat fee or sign a fight this early when it is possible you could collect the last strap and limit Canelos choices. If GGG has all the belts it would increase his worth and give him more leverage in negotiations. I really do believe Canelo wants the fight and will be moving up to 160 instead of staying at 154. The biggest fight that can be made is Canelo-GGG. The fight most likely happens next September and if all the straps are on the line and are all brought to the table by GGG he will be able to negotiate the terms with more leverage as Canelo will have nowhere to go at 160 if he wants to be a champ there.

You can make a decent argument supporting your point of view without bringing race into it. Theres no need for that crap on this forum. Just because someone is critiquing a fighter you favor does not make them racist. Unless of course you constantly bring up race because you are racist.

I've made several decent arguments. And I bring race into it because that what the hate is about.

Refute anything I said whatsoever regarding why Hopkins is given a pass by your lot for the first 10 years of his career, when he was 34 and by 35 fights when he had done less than GGG.

 

The only logical explanation for you giving Hopkins a pass for where he was at the stage of his career GGG is, while GGG gets all the hate is skin colour. And everyone knows it.

 

I don't think it warrants anything like 70%, because Canelo's not doing huge numbers without a big named opponent. But it should be reviewed next year. It's a big 'IF' at the moment, but if GG could beat Jacobs and BJS beforehand, it would give K2 a lot more leverage, as they would hold every belt in the division, and it would eliminate Jacobs and BJS as opponents for Canelo. Also, in my opinion, a Jacobs fight would do good numbers, and a BJS fight could be huge in the U.K. for a unification. Oscar obviously knows that. If Jacobs and BJS are taken out of the equation whilst Canelo's either recovering from injury or having a 'test the waters' type fight, he wouldn't have any other big money options open to him at MW afterwards. Not only that, the pressure to make the GG fight would be unbearable.

 

hes given a pass beacuse its over...hes done it...theres nothing to give him a pass for....its over.....its already done...how do we give someone a pass for something theyve already done?

were still waiting for golovkin to make a decent fight despite everyone telling us how he sells out arenas, has a fan friendly style and is a superstar in the making
