A fan of Angel? I thought it was his son who does the fighting.

 

Angel Garcia is a child trapped in the body of an overweight middle aged man. Hes an embarrassment to boxing. Ruben comes off like a bit of a dick as well, more dignified than that loser Angel tho

I think both these guys are hilarious. Controversy sales and they create it for the promotion of fights what's the matter with that? They are characters, public personas. Probably nothing like that in their private life.

Angel is funny at times with his wit, ruben just sounds like he came from the bar. Both old heads that try too hard an need to fall back out of the spotlight. Let danny talk more an build a character for himself. angel can only generate interest for so long

 

Even though Angel can go over the top with the trash talking, he is funny, while Ruben strikes me as trying to come off as a dangerous loser.

Also, it seems kind of like Ruben tries to live his tough guy fantasies through Robert. On the otherhand, while Angel is clearly also a wannabe, is bond with Danny seems much deeper.

And as the blueprint he drew up for Khan and last weekend's fight demonstrated, Angel is actually a very solid tactician and cornerman, while Ruben has benefited from Joe Goossen's groundwork with Robert, as well as Robert's natural gifts and instinctive fighting IQ.

 

I like both. Too bad Unkie Rog is sick as **** these days we'd have a nice little triple threat match going on.

I think what rubs people the wrong way with Ruben is that he comes off as more malicious and isn't very funny, whereas Angel has a combination of hilarity and coldness.
