..el bujia...the reasons i don't think fritzie zivic belongs in the hall of fame....he lost about 60 fights. i know he won a lot of fights, but 60 losses is sixty losses. he was known as one of the dirtiest fighters ever to step into the ring. after his fighting days were over, in interviews he said many of his losses were "deliberate" because of mob influence. i think each of the statements above disqualify him from and hall of fame...and adding them up should definitely keep him out. now somebody is going to com eon and list the many winning fights he had over top rated boxers...but i find that argument irrelevant.
What about the likes of Sam Langford, then? Lost an awful lot of fights while being controlled by the powers that be as well. Do you detract from him because of these things?
I though it would be between the black row of the early 1900's. Or Braddock. Never did think Moore would be the man though.
Actually Sugar Ray Robinson ties with Moore with 9 losses to HOFer's as well... LaMotta Turpin Maxim Fullmer Basillio Giardello Moyer Pender Archer
You are of course right... if we count WBHOF HOFers as well (your last 3). However, I do believe, that every time we mention how many HOFers a certain fighter has met during his career... we're kind of assuming, that we are only talking about the more recognized IBHOF (unless something else is stated).
Fair enough. When I was looking through WBHOF list I was surprised to see Archer,Moyer and Pender there actually but I didn't take into account the smaller, more pretigious IBHOF. My mistake :good
Probably my mistake as well, as I didn't make perfectly clear, what I meant. In the future, I'll try to be more specific.
