Ok, I don't know what it is. I am a southpaw... but I am right handed. I have tried switching into the orthodox stance, but it's too uncomfortable for me. The only thing that's bothering me about this is that my lead hand is stronger than my "power" hand. Is there any way I can increase the force of my left hand?
i am a right handed southpaw as well. i was originally orthodox but i switched after a year and a half because my balance/speed/power was much better. my left hand felt a little weak when i first switch as well. how long have you been a southpaw? maybe if you have only been boxing a few months you could work on the bag or ask your trainer to work on your left.
Well, I'm just naturally southpaw. When they first told me to get into my boxing stance, I originally turned to my left side and it's more comfortable. I've been training for about a month or so, and I already spar and work on the bag, I've asked him for advice, the only thing he could tell me was to throw it more often
First up - nothing wrong with being a right handed southpaw. To increase power in your left hand, get the technique down (throw it more often), and include things like explosive neider presses, dumbbell shotputs, isometric punch drills, one arm pushups immediately followed by medicine ball throws etc.
i suggest any right handed southpaw watch this man he used his right hand to throw powerful jabs uppercuts and hooks, his right hand was a ramrod
when i went southpaw for the first few months i had problems to throwing the left hand. since its not your dominant hand its probably just going to feel a little awkward. just keep working it and make sure your throwing it right and chances are it will come.
I actually do the same thing . I just don't like the fact that my dominant hand actually isn't my dominant hand
