i'm tall also...6ft 1 at light welter and my way of getting into the body is double jab and right to the body always works, best time to throw it is when they are in the corner or on the ropes

also slip the right hand and hook to the body

Mix it up like a Mexican: jab, straight right, left hook to the body. It works beautiful, 'cos after you throw the right you can lean across and set your weight on your left-hand side without your opponent noticing you're charging up.

Bend you knees is one starting point.

Go with working off you jab and using body shots in your combinations. Two shots to head step to side and drop and land left hook to body etc. Or Jab Right Cross Left Hook To Head..that will bring the fighters glove up and drop down to side and put weight onto front left leg and twist a hook or uppercut into exposed rib area.

Make sure when you go to body you don't jump back out with chin in the air but as GPater said watch Arguello.

Don't throw from the same distanceyou throw your jab and cross...

    Three distances

    Long- jab, cross

    Middle- jab, cross, hooks

Close- cross, hooks, uppercuts, body shots

Long range body shots are incredibly difficult to pull off and shouldn't be attempted unless your first names Thomas and your last name is hearns.

Try aiming your right 'cross' straight to the solar plexus.
Don't forget to roll or slide back with your right back up.

I'm 6 1, about 79kgs and most of my body shots are straight rights and right hooks. I like to have a wide stance and bend the knees when throwing these so it's more subtle and less effort, then I usually push away. I'll throw left hooks to the body when up close but I'm not often as I like to keep my range so I prefer to go to their left when fighting an orthodox fighter as it's nearer.

    Fight someone your own height

    or taller.

Your height should not be an excuse for not being able to go for the body. Learn the technique.

just mix it up with your combos. use the jab up high to get there hands up and then throw something low. you gotta be quick though and it takes practice to get used to. im tall to so i know how you feel.

Jab to the top of head then drop with you legs and right hook to body. Just mix them in right after a high head shot .... Works well for me and I'm 6'6 lol :)
