About 4 minutes in Arguello hits Edwards with a thumping counter to the body that made Boza **** his trunks. A great body puncher for his height.

Get low when you jab and jab the solar plexus; it keeps a shorter guy at the end of your jab and is more sure than jabbing at his bobbing and slipping head. Watch Foster against Dick Tiger.
Also look for the straight right as a counter to the solar plexus. Watch Carlos Zarate, who was very tall for a bantam, and particularly note how he always slipped in the left uppercut to the belly.
Also, by slipping or parrying to outside the jab, you can hook the body with the left, throw the right uppercut under the ribs on that side. From there you are also out of range.

double jab to the head, step in with a right hook or a solid right cross, follow up if you can then hold or get back out of range. I'm 6'0 and 126 :p

I gave up on body shots and I've been doing so much better. I always ended up getting countered even against people who haven't landed one clean shot the entire sparring session.

Punching to the body is best as a counter. Every punch thrown leaves open spots, usually to the body. When you start reaching or leading to the body, without having set it up, you'll get countered.

If you fight orthodox? Why go to the body? Changing levels AND dropping your hands isn't a good thing. It puts your head in harms way.

If you fight in a Philly Shell and/or off of the back foot, you have to time it. Your arms are long so you can probably go to the body and not put your head in range. Lead hook to the body after blocking a lead hook. Jab rear hook to the body.

IMHO, body work for a tall guy starts with establishing the jab. Especially a doubled up jab. Once they respect it? You can follow it with body shots and clinch or get away.
