I'm actually scared for Maravilla in this fight

I think Sergio could have outpointed several of his past opponents but he fought in a fan friendly style where he knocked his opponents out.

Williams and Pavlik may be his two best performances but i feel we haven't yet seen the best of Sergio.

 

OR... Those fights were his best & we are witnessing his decline???

Andy lee stun chavez a couple of times and hurt him to the body also and chavez claimed it was a low blow and that lets me know that chavez is a little soft in the body carrying all that extra weight.I think martinez will do alot of jabs to chavez body to soften it up and set up combinations.

Andy Lee has better punch resistance than Martinez... IMO
Hear me out, Wht I'm saying is there is Noway Sergio absorbes anywhere near the amount of punishment Andy was able to withstand.
Martinez would fold a lot faster.

I hope not. I like to think Martinez could adapt to anyone's style. His trainer comes up with loads of gameplans and ideas. I think Freddie will tell JCC Jr to rough Sergio up take him to the ropes etc. cut the ring off. Cos i know for a fact 180lb chicken JCC Jr can't outbox Sergio.

 

4 what its worth, I'm kinda goin bk n 4th on this one...ultimately I think jr's size,agressiveness and pressure will wear the smaller, older Martinez down. I wasn't really a fan on Chavez and I held Sergio in very high regard but in their last fights I kinda changed on who I thought would ever win a match up IF they were ever to fight...

 

I'm like this... I like both fighters Chavez Jr. & Sergio.
I mean Martinez fights & trains outta my hometown.
& Jr. Well I grew up watching this kid from baby boy to What he is now.
(Watching his dad bring him in the ring)

Ultimately I want a good fight, Something special about the Middleweight championship IMO next to the HW belt' in prestige & history.

Just the time is right... I feel Chavez is ready to take it & has the style to break down Sergio & at the right time in Martinez run to do it.

 

Yea Maravilla being a dangerous puncher with a counterpuncher style is one of the most dangerous styles for the opponent as they will leave themselves wide open for the shot and won't know where it came from. Maravilla has power in both hands. The only advantage I see for Jr is in the early rounds, but he's a slow starter and I think will fight similar like he did in the Lee fight. Jr seems to come stronger late in the fight, but he's never faced power like Maravillas. Williams was a better pressure fighter than Margarito or Jr I'll be surprised if it goes passed 3 rounds, but I'll give Jr the benefit of the doubt and say Martinez UD12 Chavez Jr. Should be a fun fight Jr should have some moments. If he goes right after Maravilla from the beggining to end and doesn't give him time to load or sit on his punches like Montreal Duran Jr might have a chance. He is better than I thought he was tho. Lee was a decent fighter tho many say he was on leading the scorecards at the time of stoppage Jr was busting him up. Lee has good power Jr barely flinched. Maravillas really going to test that beard.
