Isn't it that the US doesn't put enough emphasis on the amateurs any more? It seems like a lot of decent American fighters seem to have no amateur backgrounds now

Also, the sooner boxing is taken off PPV and put back onto terrestrial TV the better. That applies anywhere

That's a big factor, but American big guys have gotten worse too. If there was a Tyson, Holmes or Frazier about then we'd know about them.

almost all the up in coming talent 160lbs and above is eastern europeans, they don't get much hype in America though (and deep down you know why)

USA media would rather put hype into a guy like andre berto than give pirog ANY exposure. They give these eastern european fighters tough bull**** fights, and let guys like broner feed on tomato cans on HBO headliners. It's bull****.

USA has the most championship belts right now! What are you taking about?
    Tavoris Cloud
    Chad Dawson
    Andre Ward
    Corneluis Bundradge
    Floyd Mayweather
    Randall Bailey
    Timothy Bradley
    Paulie Malignaggi
    Danny Garcia
    Lamony Peterson
    Adrien Broner

What country has more champions? The USA is still among the leaders in boxing.

The boxing talent is spread out internationally. USA, Mexico, Cuba, UK and Eastern Europe all have their stars. But to say the USA doesn't have talent just isn't true. Ward, Dawson, Mayweather, Bradley, Broner, Dirrell, Trout, Kirkland, Guerrero, Donaire, Mares, Mitchell (etc.) are all great fighters.

P.S. I have a feeling Pavlik might shock us all soon.

I don't understand why that's a problem exactly9? As long as we get good fights, it's all good. I could care less where any boxer hails from and I can care less if America isn't 'dominate'. I want to be friggin entertained.

    19 champs
    3 Ring champs
    5 p4p top 10

seems to me like America is dominating the sport of boxing....

I am non american here but it is what it is. there's a lot of American talent at 160+ aside from Cruiserweight which is boxings least prestigious and cared about division.

    future or current MW's:

Demetrius Boo Boo Andrade (future MW champ imo, it's between him GGG and Pirog)
    Trout
    Kirkland
Spence from Olympics (he'l be MW in a couple years)
    Gausha from Olympics
    Quillin

    SMW's:

    Ward
    Dirrell
    Rodriguez

    LHW's:
    Dawson
    Cloud

    CW:
Chambers (if he moes down as planned he'll easily rule the division)

    HW:
    Mitchell
    Arreola
    Wilder
    Jennings
    Hanks

please comprise a list like that consisting of fighters that will be around for a few years and have potential from any other country and tell me it's better than that. ain't happening bruh

i disagree good ams and dont always become good pros. its a lot of politicking in the boxing for the olympics and alot of bad judging. americans will top notch from light heavy on down. americans just dont have the good big boys, today in the hw division you got be basketball height.

Personaly I perfer watching the lighterweights like Gamboa, Salido, Marquez, Mares, Rigondeaux, Broner...

Vasquez vs Marquez is going to be a very entertaining fight.
If Rios vs Alvarado gets made that's going to be FOTY!
Josecito Lopez vs Victor Ortiz was a great fight as well.

Man i can go on and on about the talent in these lower weights.

Oh and another thing makes no differance to me where a fighter is from. Ubekistan, Kazakistan, Ukrane, etc...

Since the USSR countries became independent and free, they have produced some great talents (Klitschkos and Golovkin just two as an example) Too make it more worse there are a lot of countries in Europe (Italy for an example) where the talent is good but because there is no money in the professional ranks they never make it past the amateurs. Imagine if China, Italy and all the other eastern european countries had a big professional scene...:yikes

I disagree. Other countries are getting better but to me America still runs things. Heavyweight is a joke. America is running SMW and LHW. Dont really care for cruiserweight.

yea that because all the bigger black guys are going to football and basketball. 20 or 30 years ago it would have been boxing.
